  1. Celiac.com 05/10/2019 (originally published 10/08/2010) - After giving birth to my first son in 2003, my OB/GYN tested me for diabetes due to a sore on my leg that would not heal. The diabetes test came back negative but my thyroid stimulating...
  2. Already broke my New Years resolution! ADD is both a blessing and a curse! Working on #gluten-free Puff Pastry, and lost a whole day :-p

  3. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  4. My doctor is now recommending to first try Dramamine and if that does not work, to take Unisom with a B-6 vitamin. I have researched on figure out if the meds are same, but I just get the typical, "we dont add gluten but...." stuff. Has anyone tried this combination...is it safe? Does it work? I am sure glad I know what I am going to be blessed with at...
  5. I finally tried some of Pamela's Bread mix, and whoa! I still cant believe how much it resembles "real" bread! The plain toast has been refreshing! Thanks again for all of the great ideas!
  6. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!! I am off to find some of these crackers right now! The plain Kefir is also quite nice. Much appreciated, Heidi
  7. But no, I wont eat one!!! I am about 6 weeks pregnant and I am throwing up everything...I was handling Kefir smoothies (added almond milk, flax seed, gluten-free oats, and fruit to them) pretty well, but no longer. Does anyone have any good suggestions? Rice crackers arent cutting the mustard, gingerale is good but that is about it! Any help is MUCH...
  8. Hi there! I have been gluten free for 3 months now and just had my celiac panel run again (want to have another baby) and my gliadins have jumped from 22 (when I was eating gluten) to 45. I am assuming I am getting it from some hidden source and I just found out that the Ranch Dressing I buy from a local restuarant (it does not have an ingredient list) has...
  9. These are the best prenatals I have found...used them with my son before I was diagnosed with celiac... Open Original Shared Link
  10. Thanks....going to order the book on Amazon right now!
  11. Hi! Has anyone here had a successful pregnancy with no thyroid (due to having Radioactive Iodine treatment for Graves disease) and Celiac Disease? I am in my preplanning stage for trying for our second child and dont see my doctors until the end of this month and am quite curious to find someone who may have similar circumstances and carried a healthy...
  12. I know that the Tom Sawyer IS EXPENSIVE! I will probably try to make my own at some point but because I am so new at this, I dont have the foggiest idea on the proportions to use of each flour. They do rip us off for sure....I just hope someday some mainstream companies can get involved and maybe with wide distribution it can lower the cost. One other...
  13. Thank you all for your wonderful advice. I am definitely committed to the diet now that I know I for sure have it...it is easy to deny with just the blood test (could it have been a false positive?) but there is no denying the biopsy! I am actually really loving the diet....I did a Thanksgiving "dry run" last week and it was awesome, even all of my friends...
  14. Hi! I was diagnosed with celiac in May of 2005. Went gluten free right away but fell off the wagon at Thanksgiving and stayed off until 2 months ago. I was in denial, first (and only one) in family to be diagnosed, no family history and was completely asymptomatic. So I had the biopsy and I do in fact have it and have been gluten free again since September...
  15. In case you have not heard of it, you simply must try Tom Sawyer's Gluten Free "All Purpose Flour" I can not tell the difference between that and the regular wheat version. I have used it so far to thicken gravy, make pumpkin bread and mac n' cheese.........ABSOLUTELY perfect! My husband and son, who do not have celiac, could not tell the difference either...
  16. Oh I am so glad I found this thread!! I too was diagnosed with Graves Disease in May of '04, had RAI in July of '04 and after my thyroid finally "died" in Oct '04, I have gained 50 lbs despite of weight watchers, etc.! My T4 and T3 are in normal range but my TSH has gone from 151 in April (under .075 L-thyroxine) then to 21 in May (under .2 Synthroid) then...
