  1. I made the turkey myself with no stuffing. I don't think it was the turkey because it happened so fast after the gum. I hadn't thought about the artificial sugar, but I occasionally chew another Wrigley's and it has the artificial sugar and it doesn't bother me. Any other thoughts?
  2. I have been sick for three days and I think I know the culprit, but would like some experienced opinions: On Friday I ate leftover turkey with lettuce and Ranch dressing. Didn't seem to have any reaction. I normally don't react to the dairy in the Ranch. An hour later I had a piece of Wrigley's Orbit gum. Within a minute of putting it in my mouth...
  3. I am trying to sort out everything I am reacting to. I know I have a nickel allergy, but never knew it was in food. On top of being gluten-free, now, it seems impossible to find anything to eat. Now I am suspecting a salicylate sensitivity/allergy. I know I react topically, now I need to see if foods bother me, too. But that leaves me basically just...
  4. I hope you are right, Metoo. Of all my symptoms, this would be the one that I would like to get rid of the most. It is so debilitating. I'm going to try to remain hopeful.
  5. I did some more research and I definitely have pompholyx eczema. I looked up causes and treatments and just learned more about this condition than I have from any of the multiple dermatologists that I've seen in the past 25 years for this condition. How exasperating! No one has ever suggested an allergy!! Sweating was noted as a cause - and I wore nitrile...
  6. I am not a big sugar eater, so I don't know if the die off would make sense. How long does it take to die off? I am eating a lot more vegetables and rice. No soy. No dairy. I was researching salicylates because I know that there is something topical that sets off my eczema, I just haven't pinpointed it yet. If I try to cut them out, too, there will...
  7. I haven't been officially diagnosed. My symptoms all point to celiac disease. I've been gluten-free for almost 2 weeks now and 80% of my symptoms have disappeared: pain, bloating, C, D, fatigue, nausea. These are the ones I went to the doctor about and had been around for 6 weeks. However, since learning about celiac disease, I'm hopeful that my lifelong...
  8. Thank you again, everyone. The cross-sensitivity is what it sounds like, and I am going to pursue the test for Hashimoto's, although, as I said, it seems like my symptoms are disappearing now that I'm gluten-free? I've been putting off buying new kitchen equipment and books until I get 'diagnosed' or at least rule this out, but I'm so afraid to eat...

  10. Thank you for getting back to me. The EGD is supposed to be for biopsy purposes. I am interested in asking if they'll do the test I saw posted on this forum where they put the gliadin (sp?) on the biopsy to see if it reacts because I WILL NOT EAT GLUTEN. I am completely out of commission for 2 days if I do - have you ever seen a house with 6 kids when...
  11. I have so many questions I don't know where to start. I am a 42yo female in good health and at a healthy weight. I have 7 children, so I keep quite busy and I cook from scratch. Six weeks ago I began to have abdominal pain after eating, followed by back pain. I was also cycling between C and D. I saw my PCP and she ordered gallbladder and pancreas...
