I'm a writer based in Oakland. Also an athlete that spends a lot of time running, cycling, and racing. Diagnosed at the lovely age of 40, a week before Thanksgiving, in 2011. Happy to be healthy.

    Thank you. I didn't see much of anything on the restaurant's regular menu that was gluten/dairy free except for a salad, but it's worth asking. Otherwise, I would probably save my money. Thanks for the feedback!

    Thank you both! Tuxedocat, I really like the easy "multiple food sensitivities" statement for certain social gatherings.     Thanks ya'll! Maybe I will have to be patient (not my strong suit)? Natalie, I'd be curious to know what your doc says -- good luck! As far as other personal care products, as far as I can tell everything is gluten free now. The only suspect item is my face cleaner -- from Trader Joe's -- which lists "oat amino acid" as an ingredient. I haven't looked...

I'm cleaning up my diet but I haven't cleaned my kitchen (of gluten) yet, for example.
