  1. HIDA scan shows my gallbladder operates at 100% efficiency... I could have sworn this was gallbladder. Celiac panel came back negative. my result was IgA <2 U/mL with 0-3 being negative, 4-10 being weak positive, and >10 being positive. Due to a job loss testing is on hold till i have insurance again.... but as long as I eat mild things tend...
  2. Oh i'm not screaming to get off the diet. I'm sticking to it for at least 3 months regardless of the celiac panel results. It's actually not a bad diet for me any how. I ate WAY too much pasta and breads before. Now I'm still eating gluten free alternatives but i eat them far less often and i eat a LOT more veggies and fruits than I used to which is defiantly...
  3. Never got the blood results. Sonograms show enlarged liver with fat deposits. Next stop hida scan jan 3rd. Likelyhood of celiac decreasing. Will keep you all posted.
  4. Response: "No because you can't come up with anything better than 'try to ignore the excruciating pain you're in'.... Since you can't diagnose me why don't you go ahead and get me the referral for an endocrinologist I asked for...." Doctors are seriously getting on my nerves lately. My recent GI visit went like this: Me: "I know i may have celiac,...
  5. just got called by the Gastroenterologists office. My blood work came back normal. (no details) the didn't set an appointment to talk to the doctor which i found annoying. However I didn't press the issue as I just had sonograms done for my abdomen. When those results come back there will be none of this office assistant calling me back to tell me I'm fine...
  6. had my first gluten free pasta... was some hodgson mills stuff rom albertsons. It wasn't horrid ... it wasn't pasta.... uggg. I would really really prefer to make my own. Unfortunately i just do not have the time to do so regularly. I intend to give it a shot and make some lasagna noodles and ravioli's soon. Of course that means going out and searching...
  7. Thanks guys. i was just looking at the dangerous ingredients list on this site somewhere ... it's all so confusing and new.
  8. so I decided to go have a snack... remembered i had just bought a nice summer sausage, some extra sharp cheddar, and smoked swiss.... Only to find dextrose and smoke flavor in the brand new summer sausage .... This crap is in EVERYTHING!!!!!!!! and it was brand new... Sumer sausage is one of my favorite holiday treats... aaaarrrrgggggggg!!!!!!!! ...
  9. [quote name='love2travel' timestamp='1323469727' post='755329' Sorry to have highjacked the thread...just wanted to add to what others have said about the ability to cook and eat very well with celiac.
  10. absolutely awesome!!!!! does it stick? if i get it wet and press it together? like for making ravioli???? i can definitely see it for lasagna, and spaghetti ... I had been toying with the idea of getting my butcher to thin slice some chicken breasts, then cut them into strips, and season and pan sear them in olive oil, then use that to serve a nice red...
  11. not certain how thorough he's being... he's doing the sonograms because i was adamant and insisted they be done. At one point i definitely hard the tone of 'just live with it' .
  12. I'd love to hear it... I've been told by an Italian friend of mine that i'm "too italian" and won't appreciate the store bought pastas... we'll see. but i'm definitely game for making my own. (welcome back portabella mushroom and onion ravioli!!!)
  13. Blood work was just taken and went oer my biopsy results. He said here is something causing my intestines not to break down and process food properly. Biopsy results: I begin my gluten free life tomorrow. I am trying to look on the bright side. All the pastas and breads have been keeping me from loosing much needed weight. I am 254lbs should be...
  14. Again, thank you all very very much. not only for the knowledge and advise but also for helping me correct my outlook on my dr, and on the possibility of having this condition. Here i should be thankful for a dr that is investigating, and for possibly catching this before it does severe dammage, and instead i'm griping because i don't want to give...
  15. Thank you both very much for your insight and knowledge. I appreciate it very much. I suppose I'm just so violently opposed to having this (and loosing so much food I love) that I'm trying not to believe it. Again thank you. I'll keep you posted on the results.
