I've seen several references to SALS on recent posts. What are they? and how do they affect DH? My son was diagnosed a year ago, and we have been gluten free since then. However, he still struggles with breakouts and I can't determine what they are from? Desperately trying to get it under control for him. So, I am curious what are SALS? Thanks! -
My son's DH does not have any white discharge, only clear fluid (like a blister), then scabs, then purplish scar after. However, I am gluten sensitive, and once I figured it out and went gluten-free, my acne cleared up entirely! Amazing. So, maybe you are right, maybe gluten is causing not only the DH rash, but also acne breakouts.

I have one son with DH and another with EXTREMELY sensitive skin. When you have one autoimmune disease in your genes, you are much more likely to have others. so.... what I am saying is, it very possible that he does have excema or contact dermatitis. I use 100 percent unscented everything on my son with excema... no fabric softeners and/or static sheets... -

Yes! I think that is what we are going to try and do starting with the New Year. Since being home this week, he hasn't had any new outbreaks and the sores are healing up.
