  1. I have no idea why this picture is coming through so big!! I tried several ways and times to make it smaller but I couldn't so I apologize, LOL!! The good news is, she has an appt with the dermatologist on Tues. I'm afraid it won't result in anything yet again. We've been to the pediatrician, the allergist, the rheumotologist, the GI and no one seems...
  2. Holy Moly! You have made me rethink my entire children's lives!! We are looking into going gluten free for my oldest because of GI issues, JRA, intense itchy rash...but her blood work was normal. When we started researching we saw she had many of the celiac symptoms. And then I started reading about behavior issues and wondered if we shouldn't go gluten free...
  3. To clear up confusion, LOL. She had the celiac blood testing done by her pediatrician because she was having stomach issues and this rash. She had told me that celiac can cause the joint pain and since she'd been diagnosed JRA, she thought we should do the blood test. It came back negative. I don't know numbers because I haven't seen them but I will be getting...
  4. Hi 7yrslater,

This is my address (with NO spaces):

If you and your daughter are willing send me pics of the 'bumps' in a few different places. I've had head to toe for 12 months in all its various presentations. Don't dismiss DH - your description is more like what our DH experiences than you realise.

  5. I have a question. My 13 yr old was diagnosed with JRA back in August. She is doing better--not great--on medication to help control the pain. She went through numerous types of tests, all of them negative, for almost a year before they finally found some inflammation in her ankle thru an MRI. She doesn't present in a normal way. No fevers, no redness, no...
  6. So we've just started trying a gluten free diet on Wednesday--of course the lovely child cheated on the very first day!-- but other than one slip we've been very careful about everything. About halfway through the morning I noticed, for the first time, she was not itching non-stop. She hadn't even noticed but said, hey, yeah! Tonight we go to a movie and...
  7. What do these teeth look like? We are just starting a gluten free diet with my 13 yr old dd and the more I read, the more symptoms I add to her list! She too has these gross teeth and I was also told by her dentist that for what ever reason when they were forming, they lacked some mineral or nutrient. Her teeth are kind of tan in color, certainly not white...
  8. Cortizone??? You mean the stuff I've been lathering on my daughter's intensely itchy skin might be more of a hinderance than a help? She hasn't been diagnosed (The blood work came back negative but we are going gluten free to see if it helps her myriad of issues but the doc's have given us creams and lotions, and pills and... grrr! Not one of them made one...
  9. She's had the panel. Did it last week. It was negative.
  10. Thank you! it's good to know I'm not going crazy. And, I'm guessing it is possible to get this diagnosis later in life? I don't remember her ever having issues in earlier childhood--she had her tonsils out at 11 and does seem to get sick easier than the rest of my kids. Now I'm wondering if this isn't at issue with her younger sister (now 11) who has ADHD...
  11. I'm new here, to the forum and to the possibility my 13 yr old daughter might have celiac. For about a year and a half she has battled with very painful joints. For a year she was poked, prodded, tested, x-rayed and nothing abnormal showed up. We saw her pedi who sent us to rheumotology who didn't think she had arthritis because there was no "proof". No matter...
