  1. Thanks so much for your help! I see a lot of my daughter in all of the things you described. Our journey continues...
  2. Hello again. It's been a while since I've been around...but seems like I keep ending up here. I'm trying an elimination diet with my daughter as my gut keeps telling me that she is likely a Celiac. I have a question for those of you whose children were diagnosed or made it through the toddler/preschooler years with Celiac disease. I am curious what...
  3. I am wondering if you can share with me what it feels like to be "glutened" or what sort of signs/symptoms does your child display when this has happened to them? Thanks!
  4. Thanks for all the advice! It's been 2 weeks and she's still having mucous in her bowel movements. I find that there are days when she starts to sound a bit congested, will throw up a bit, pass a lot of gas and there will be a fair amount of mucous in her stool. I'm certain she must be reacting to something I'm eating. We are off to see the family doctor...
  5. I am still fairly new to this forum and have been reading through numerous posts tonight in an attempt to find an answer to my question. At what point do you think it's possible to suspect celiac disease and what signs would you be looking for? Are there some sort of warning signs that you now see in retrospect? My maternal grandmother is a confirmed...
  6. Thanks - I actually had to call DH to come home and take care of our DD today...I'm feeling so awful As for what test I had - it was a blood test for endomycelial antibody. The original plan was to stay on the diet for the month regardless of the test results...because I know they can be incorrect...or I could be intolerant/sensitive without being...
  7. Hi there - I'm fairly new to these forums but I've been reading through them and you all seem to be full of wonderful advice. Here's my story - my maternal grandmother is a diagnosed celiac. I suspect both my mother and sister are undiagnosed celiacs. I've been having a bad bout of depression and was reading that this could be associated with celiac...
  8. Thanks for the links - I am going to go and read through all of the information! I have been reading and did see that testing under the age of 2 can be inaccurate...so what does one do in that case? My poor daughter is about to fall right off of the growth curve - which scares me!! I'm not keen on subjecting her to a biopsy...but would it be accurate...
  9. I am new to these boards and it appears that they are a wealth of information! My 17 month old daughter was just tested for celiac disease this week and we are awaiting the results. She is generally asymptomatic - the only thing that tipped me off (aside from my maternal grandmother being a confirmed celiac) is that she lost weight between her 12 month...
  10. Hello there! I am brand new to this board and I have a quick question. I'm on information overload right now as I suspect that my DD has celiac disease. I know that celiac disease is genetically linked...so my question is - if my DD has celiac disease, doesn't that mean that I must have celiac disease as well (I know genetics isn't always that simple...
