  1. I have been taking digestive enzymes for years, even before I was diagnosed. The best ones that I have taken are from my chiropractor. They are Loomis enzymes that were developed by Dr. Loomis. They can only be purchased from doctors, chiropractor's, etc., who have attended the courses and have decided to carry the items. They have helped me a great...
  2. Having recently diagnosed with gluten sensitivity, I began a gluten free diet 9 days ago. I have been a vegetarian for 30 years and a vegan for 7. New diet does pose somewhat of a challenge and I find that looking for baked products is difficult. So many of the products have white rice flour, potato flour, tapioca starch and other things that I have not...
  3. Thanks for all the info. I now have more understanding of the disease. I will continue to read and research. The diet is difficult but managable at home. Don't know if family members had it, but Mom, Dad and my brother all had hypothyroid. My Mom died at 80, heart attack, Dad at 94, hit by a car, and my brother is 70 and still alive. My husband...
  4. Hi: Still trying to process the last blood test I had done. Seems I am positive on Antigliadin IgA and t-Transblutaminase (tTg) Iga, but negative on Antigliadin, IgG, Reticulin Iga Ab and Reticulin IgG Ab. I have Hashi's thyroid (since '99) with antithyroid antibodies over 500, IBS-D since the early '60's. I have already begun the gluten free diet...
  5. Bean: Cannot thank you enough for your research and information on L-glutamine. I began taking it about 3 years ago for my IBS-D which I have had since the early '60's. Sometimes I go for years without any problems, but stress seems to play a very big role. I recently had bloodwork done to see if I had any sensitivity to gluten/wheat and the results...
  6. Thank you for all of your responses. I do understand the difficulty, especially being vegan. I have become aware of some of my options, just makes it a little more of a challenge when I travel and when we go out to dinner, etc. I will miss "real" pasta and those good Italian desserts. Thanks, MartyG
  7. Hi: New to this board and this problem. Have been on the IBS board for years. Have had IBS for over 40 years and just recently diagnosed with celiac (though we will be doing another blood test next week). Little difficult as my diet is already restricted. I am a vegetarian for 30 years and a vegan for 6 years. I also did a food allergy test last...
