    ARCHIVED Subway

The plot thickens. I'm beginning to think that I didn't get sick from the first ones because I was just starting on a gluten free diet, maybe the reduced amount of gluten at that stage was relief enough? But now that my diet is almost 100% gluten free I need to be more careful? I really don't know how this works, and after negative blood test results I'm...

    ARCHIVED Subway

Hmmm OK thanks guys, that's exactly what I was thinking. kareng, they don't advertise anything as gluten free but when I asked about the wraps they said yes they are gluten-free. No point though since there is so much risk for cross contamination. Now that I think about it, the wraps seemed to be stored in the oven underneath the regular buns, so crumbs...

    ARCHIVED Subway

Is subway off limits for us? I am newly gluten-free and not diagnosed. Have had two wraps (supposedly gluten-free) from subway and felt okay. But yesterday I had another and got sick. I suspect cross contamination. The only way I figured it could happen (since they are very transparent about how they prepare food) - After cutting and pulling open the regular...
  4. Well a gluten-free diet eliminated my symptoms within a day or two so the negative test results seemed strange. I will continue on it and try gluten in a few months, but even yesterday I seem to have gotten sick from some cross contamination at subway. I hate the whole clinical process so I'd rather just figure this out with trial and error myself. ...
  5. Wow that is a high false negative rate. The results I have are: Anti Gliadin IgA < 5 U/mL (<20) Anti Gliadin IgG < 5 U/mL (<20) Anti Tissue Transglutaminase IgA < 4 U/mL (<4) there were other things they tested too but i don't have the results. Does this suggest anything? I had been on a gluten free diet for a couple of days before...
  6. I'm new to all this as well, but I spoke to a friend who is celiac, and she had no symptoms at all when she got tested (blood tests and the biopsy) and came back positive. Hope that helps. Luke
  7. After getting negative blood test results today I am kind of happy, but also wonder what is going on now. I stopped eating gluten last monday, and on wednesday i think had something with minute amounts of gluten in it and felt a little ill. Before this, every day for about a month straight, i had bad pains in my lower abdomen just to the left of my belly...
  8. Hi guys. I've recently discovered the whole gluten free thing, after about a month of feeling ill in the stomach every day (plus other things). Spoke to my mum who suggested gluten intolerance, so I did a bit of research and started cutting out gluten. It worked. Initially I felt good getting relief from all those uncomfortable symptoms and finally working...
