  1. Dairy is pretty rare in my daily diet. I do consume nightshades on a regular basis. I recall seeing some information on nightshades causing inflammation in some people. I suppose its worth a try to eliminate them for a while to test that theory. I'm kind of skeptical of food sensativity in regards to natural foods, but in the world of GMO, pesticides and...
  2. I haven't been tested for lyme disease or anything related, doctors in my area are very ignorant of such things. I have had blood tests earlier this year to test for mineral/vitamin levels and deficiencies. I did have really low vitamin D and have been supplimenting for that but I was never alerted to anything else. I'm at a loss at the moment on what to...
  3. I have been on a gluten free diet for just over a year now. However I have been experiencing joint pain in my neck, back and hips and feet. Over time it has been getting progressively worse. Last week my right knee swelled up and it was to painful to walk and caused me to miss work. This prompted me to go see a doctor even though I have very little faith...
  4. If I do purchase cereal its of the Chex brand and I am not aware of anthing containing gluten in their "gluten free" cereals. On an another note I have started reading on the effects of BHT which seems to be in some of these cereals. There's so much poison in the food we eat today.
  5. Thanks for the info Takala. Although I have been sticking to the gluten free diet I admittedly haven't cut out all processed foods. Though the processed foods I consume don't contain gluten I know they could cause some of my symptoms. The difficulty for me in consuming only whole foods lies with cost. I don't make a lot of money and it's tough to stay "healthy...
  6. Thanks for the quick replys everyone. Unfortunately it's not just one rib or one side. It is my entire ribcage, front and back included. I try stretching, which is also painful, but that doesn't seem to help either. I've been on a gluten free diet for some time now and lately things seem to only be getting worse.
  7. I have had unrelenting "ribcage" pain for months and during that time I have not been able to sneeze or take deep breaths. There is too much pain that any attempt to sneeze or take a deep breath is immediately halted. I have pain in both the front and back of my ribcage. Nothing seems to get better despite dietary and physical activity changes. I have stopped...
  8. For about 4-5 months now I have been experiencing pain in my sternum. I also notice a bump in the middle of my sternum close to the top end. If I press on the bump it is tender. Stretching my chest in certain directions will make it hurt worse. Sneezing and deep breaths are almost impossible as they cause considerable pain in my sternum. I am not sure if...
  9. Started taking the vitamins you recommended Riceguy. I'm anxious for this weakness/fatigue to go as it obviously interferes with work and life in general. I'm still in the process of eliminating hidden gluten sources in my diet. Just found out the sour cream I use has gluten! I imagine my symptoms will start improving once all traces are gone. Anyone know...
  10. UPDATE I skipped taking the Alive mutli this morning and did not experience the usual intense nausea I normally have every morning. I'm almost certain this must have been the reason! Took 5mg of B12 as well and already notice a difference so far just this half a day. Now to just find a good multivitamin.
  11. Thanks for the info. It is much appreciated. I have only been gluten free for 6-7 months so maybe I still have some recovering to do. Thanks for the heads up on the vitamins Riceguy, I hadn't even considered my multi as a source of possible contamination. I will also try your other suggestions although snacking probably wont work for me with my on the go...
  12. Riceguy- Thanks for the reply. The B12 I'm taking is a methylcobalamin @ 1000mcg, I usually take one 3 times a day. The vitamin I currently use is by a company called Nature's Way, The product is Alive! Once Daily Men's Ultra Potency. As far as my fingernails go they seem pretty healthy although they don't seem to grow as fast as I remember. I can't say...
  13. Hi all, I have been visiting this forum for months and finally decided to join. First off I am self diagnosed. After discussing my issues with a number of people (my chiropractor and celiac friends) I was told to try going gluten free. I had almost immediate improvements. Here is my story; Almost a decade ago I started having acid reflux symptoms. When the...
