Thank you both for your input. I will be completing the rest of my tests and then see where I am. I have a feeling I will be giving gluten free a trial. I appreciate the moderators and all of you who share your time, knowledge and experiences here. I have no doubt you have saved lives where the medical community has failed. Thank you! -

My CBC and Metabolic Panel are normal with the exception of BUN/Creatinine ratio of 8 (ref. range 9-23), BUN 6 (ref. 6-24). Thanks for the input. You all have taught me well so I basically lied to my pcp today to get the lab tests I need (like thyroid panel and vit/min levels). I told her the gastro doc wanted her to order them. Haven't had a chance to do labs yet as my daughter is back in the hospital (see Daughter in Crisis post). She is now having dizziness, memory issues... -

Thanks to those of you who have shared your experiences and wisdom, I went well prepared to my visit. Even had a written list of complaints, symptoms (which she didn't even look at). "Did they check her for parasites as well? I would have guessed Lupus but... Did they rule out MCTD and UCTD too?" I have reviewed the labs from the hospital and there were no stool tests done. No mention of MCTD either, but the Rheumatologist does want to follow up as she had a positive ANA and he wants to rule out something auto-immune. I thank... -

Thank you all for the prompt responses. She has some follow up appts Thurs and Fri. but I don't have much hope that they can come up with anything new. I will get her in with a GE asap. I am on my way to pick up the medical records from her hospitalization and will look them over to see what was run re: anything celiac related and the other tests mentioned... -

Thank you for reading, sorry for the length....I am seeing a GE tomorrow for my own issues, highly suspect celiac disease. My 20 yr old daughter is a college athlete and has always eaten a healthy diet, not really a carb or sweets person (unlike me!). 5'9'' about 120 lbs. now.
