Hey all, Well I just got off the phone with my son's endocrinologist...the squeaky wheel finally got the grease and she said that even tho my blood test results for celiac were negative she wants him tested... DUH! So I am calling his Dr. in the morning and getting him tested for Celiac in the morning...I hope I can get him in to the lab in the morning...

I thought i read somewhere in the boards (can't find the silly post now)...that someone adds a little bit of baking powder into the dough for chebe, If that person or if anyone knows how much to add to a normal package, I would be SOOOO appreciative! I just got a whole bunch of Chebe packets in that I ordered from them... I am hoping to make...

Well... my little guy Alan is almost 6 (He will be 6 September 22) and he has not been on the growth chart since he was 9 months old (right about when I Started feeding him Gluten)... and he is now 3' 3" tall and weighs 34.5 pounds... he is the "Average" height of a 3 year old.... my Daughter who is almost 3 (she will be 3 in January) is only 3 inches shorter...

I am thinking of putting my son alan who is very little (he weighs 34.5 pounds, is 39 inches tall and is almost 6 years old) on a gluten-free diet, but I am trying to wait until his endocrinologist says.. But I have not gotten a call back from her...*GRRRRR* (don't get me started on that!).... Should I just go ahead and put him on a gluten...
  7. I find their donuts good....but I don't like the english muffins... I found them VERY dry, is there any way to make them a better texture? (i.e. Toasting them or heating them more? Thanks --Maya
  8. I would do that except for the fact that I have no sense of smell... I haven't had a sense of smell since I was about 6 or so... I think it was when I fell off my bike and hit my head... but not sure.. all I know is that I don't have a sense of smell... --Maya

  11. I tried the Tinkyada pasta and didn't like it at all.. don't know why... but i love the quinoa and it doesn't bother me at all.... I guess there is some controversy about Quinoa whether or not it is gluten-free or not?? have you heard about that? --maya
  12. Oh I am in heaven!!!!!!! I found Chebe Breadsticks!! if the pizza dough is as good I will be in absolute heaven!!!! They are soooo good and sooooo easy to make!!! Yesterday afternoon after a day of shopping and such, I took my kids to friendly's for lunch... well I was not even thinking (I am still very new to the whole gluten-free thing)... and what did I do....go an order a bowl of Clam chowder! and gee what a surprise...NOT when about 1/2 an hour later I had to RUN to the bathroom...

  15. Wow! I am so glad to hear about others that are in my boat.. I am 5'8" and currently weigh 285 pounds! I just started the gluten-free diet a couple of weeks ago... I am still trying figuring out what I can and can't eat... I am just hope that now that I am on gluten-free that I might lose some weight... I just have to be careful, I seem to be now eating...

  18. Hey all, I am not feeling well at all today Only thing I can think of is that I got cross contaminated at McDonald's today at lunch... I ordered a Quarter Pounder with Cheese (no bun).... I told them that the bun couldn't even touch and they said ok..and I watched them make it... but I didn't see any contamination...could it have still been...

Hey all, My son had a very wierd thing happen today... he has had it happen in the past but I never put 2 and 2 together....(we are trying to figure out if he has a gluten intolerance.. he is very short for his age and very small) We went to TGI Fridays where he had the Mac and Cheese.. which i know is not gluten-free... and then we went to go pick up...

Hi All, Not sure if I am still "allowed" to be here, my Dr. just let me know that my Bloodwork that he did came back negative, but that I should stay gluten-free since it is helping with my symptoms... I am not sure if is 100% sure that I don't have celiac since i guess the tests aren't 100% accurate and can do a false negative fairly commonly? Am...
  24. Thanks everyone for your input... I think for now I will continue to have gluten in the house for him, my daughter and my son (verdict is still out on him)... I just got my blood test results back and they came back negative for Celiac but my Rheumatologist said I should stay gluten-free since it is helping and that the tests are not 100% accurate so he...

I was venting and just trying to get some advice....it is still all new to me too (since I haven't been on the gluten-free diet for that long yet... again..
