I know you know what your talking about. But, since the new Dr. may not be familiar with celiac testing, do you have a link to a medical information page that tells which blood tests are most important?

Hello all, Per the advice of another member on this forum, I am going to make an appointment with a family practice MD/nutritionist tommorow for a celiac disease test. I am currently eating all the gluten/wheat stuff. I need any information/tips/ and advice on what to ask/which test to get. No one in my family I know of has a diagnosed celiac...

Also, i know you said any doctor can do the bloodwork, but would going to an allergist/immunologist be better in regards accuracy? And, I have to be "on" gluten to get accurate results, right? How accurate is the bloodwork tests?

Thanks for the information. So, even though I have tested positive on an allergy panel by an md for wheat in 2005, I should get specifically tested for celiac?

Pree Pretty sure I dont have celiac disease. I believe it is a wheat allergy/intolerance. i just dont have the main symptoms of celiac.
