  1. I think I have IBS on top of the celiac disease, or it's just my body still trying to heal from the damage the gluten has done. I can't handle a lot of fat either, and I have stomach issues when I get stressed out. It doesn't take much. I will definitely start a food diary. Yes it definitely helps to vent. I'm glad this forum is here to talk to people...
  2. Yes he asked and i told him I was not officially diagnosed. Good idea! That's what I'll do when I get a new therapist. That way I can get some actual therapy and not just another person who doubts me. Thanks /hug. It really is frustrating. I'm glad this forum is here to get support from others who know how it is.
  3. Thanks for your reply. I was in therapy a few months ago, and my therapist didn't believe that I had celiac. Mainly because it was not diagnosed by a doctor. It was hard that not even my therapist believed me (along with a bunch of friends). I eventually did get tested by a doctor but it came out negative because I had been on the gluten free diet for about...
  4. Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I don't think it was the crackers. I think it was the thyme. I found a website that says Simply Organic single ingredient spices are not certified gluten free and the company does not guarantee that cross contamination is not present. I know my original post is a bit misleading, but I have been gluten free for almost 2 years...
  5. Hello, thanks for your reply. I've been gluten free for almost 2 years. 3 weeks ago was the first time I got glutened in months (and last night was the second time in months). That's another thing that makes this whole thing so infuriating, I thought I had it all under control and then one little mistake messes it up again. No I don't keep a food diary but...
  6. Hello, Thanks for the reply. I know my post is a bit misleading, but I am by no means a newbie. I have been on a gluten-free diet for almost 2 years. This is the first time (and second time last night) I have been glutened in months.
  7. Hello everyone, I was wondering how you all cope with the incredibly frustrating cycle of celiac disease. I am livid. I got glutened about 3 weeks ago and decided by process of elimination that it was most likely caused by the Absolutely Gluten Free brand flatbread I ate. I was finally starting to feel normal again when last night I began to have symptoms...
  8. Hello everyone, I recently tried Absolutely Gluten Free brand flatbread and I got sick when I ate a significant amount of it (symptoms including extreme fatigue, muscle tightness, stomach issues, sneezing, stuffy nose, dry burning eyes). Has anyone tried this product before and had a reaction and/or does anyone have verification if this product is or...
  9. Thanks. I've been trying to get more variety in my diet, trying new fruits and veggies that I don't usually eat. It has helped a lot.
  10. Thank you for the suggestion. I have been eating a lot of plantains and they help a lot.
  11. Thank you everyone for the useful replies. I recently went to the doctor. They tested for h pylori, thyroid, liver function, kidney function, and blood test for celiac disease. All came out normal. I'm pretty sure I have celiac though because I have a very strong negative reaction when I accidentally eat gluten, so I think it was a false negative because...
  12. Thanks for the reply. I eat a lot of white rice too, because it's also the only grain I can eat. Are you worried at all about the arsenic in rice? And if so, do you do anything to limit the arsenic in your rice? The FDA did some studies recently and found there are pretty high arsenic levels in all rice products, though white rice does have less than brown...
  13. Hello everyone, I just got results back from a gluten blood test. They were normal. Is is possible to get a false negative blood test because I've been on a gluten free diet since January? Also I haven't accidentally eaten gluten for over a month before the test was taken. I'm pretty sure I have celiac disease because when I accidentally eat gluten...
  14. Hey everyone, Since going gluten free in January, I have had to remove several foods other than gluten from my diet that I have intolerances to (or that I refuse to eat because it's processed). Here is the list of foods I have removed from my diet since January: 1. gluten 2. most other grains, except for rice (this is mainly because when I ate...
  15. Thanks for the replies everyone! I think I'm going to stop talking to them about it, unless they specifically ask about it, or if it's unavoidable (like when going out to eat with them). I finally have an appointment tomorrow with the doctor so hopefully I will get some definite answers soon.
