It is Quaker brand but what's interesting is the germ is removed from the corn. Is there is significance in that the property of the corn is changed?

I am new to wheat allergy and I bought some rice cakes yesterday and after eating them I was all itchy again. Could whole grain brown rice be made with wheat? I can't find documentation on brown rice.
