  1. Yes, I kept eating moderate amounts of gluten for both the blood tests and the biopsy. It looks like I'm going to be stuck with the IBS title. I just don't understand why I feel tired and nauseated all the time - I thought those weren't supposed to be symptoms of IBS. Anyways, thanks for all your help!
  2. Thanks for responding again! Sorry to ask the same question twice - I thought it would be better if I reposted with a better subject line. Then I edited my last post right as you were responding which messed the whole thing up! I think it's time for me to go to bed! Sorry if I confused anyone. BB
  3. Oops, sorry I just edited my post because I created a new topic to answer that question. I think you're right though. That makes sense! Thanks for your help. For those of you who were wondering, my question was: What does "R/O celiac sprue" mean on my lab results? Thank you so much!
  4. If anyone has read my previous post you will already know that I (yet again) am trying to figure out my results on my own. My doctor's office only has one nurse who is allowed to give out the results and she always seems to be gone. Last time, I had to wait forever for my blood test results because she had a conference to go to. Now, she's on vacation and...
  5. I definitely agree that this is frustrating! I hope that we both can get some answers soon. BB
  6. Well, it looks like I don't have Celiac Disease. I haven't been officially told yet, but I picked up my own biopsy results from the hospital lab because the nurse in charge of the results at my doctor's office is on vacation until Wednesday. Anyways, I was wondering what else could cause the IgG antibody to be high? Are there any other diseases or conditions...
  7. Thanks guys! I'm a little anxious to get the results back. My bloodwork came back only slightly positive as opposed to really high as many of you have mentioned. I was a little surprised after the biopsy. I remember feeling like I was gagging a little at the beginning, and I think I remember a poking feeling in my stomach, but that was it. I wasn't expecting...
  8. I just got back from my endoscopy and I am surprisingly alert! I thought that I was going to be dead tired the rest of the day. The procedure wasn't too bad, I don't really remember too much. I feel silly for worrying so much about it! The doctor said that there wasn't any noticable damage so basically I just have to wait for the biopsy results. I...
  9. I've had blood work done. IgA was 4 (negative) and IgG was 25 (weak positive) - both with a reference range of < 20 units. My doctor still strongly believes it is celiac disease based on my symptoms, that's why he wants to do a biopsy to find out for sure. I've also had stool testing done, and fecal leukocytes (white blood cells) and moderate yeast were...
  10. Hi everyone! I'm still fairly new at this - I'm still in the diagnosis stage. I was just wondering though, for those of you who feel sick all the time, how do you manage this while on the job? I have been feeling soooo sick for the past few months and have been missing a lot of work. I'm lucky to have an understanding boss, but sometimes I wonder if this...
  11. Hmmm... I was thinking of calling my general practitioner, but I've had so many appointments over the past couple of months - I don't want them to think I'm a hypochondriac (sp?). I thought I just may be getting some sort of cold, but who knows anymore! Maybe a quick call wouldn't hurt. Better to be safe than sorry!
  12. Oh great - I've never been given any kind of sedatives before so I wonder how much information I will let slip! Oh well, I would rather be really loopy than crying like a baby! It sounds like this may be a pretty interesting experience for me... (coming from someone who gets tipsy off of half a glass of wine)
  13. First off, I just want to say that everyone here has been wonderful and it is great to have a place to get answers from people who have first-hand knowledge on this subject. I am still in the pre-diagnosis stage. As some of you may know, my blood tests showed up as "weak positive", so I am scheduled to have a biopsy done in a couple of weeks. I...
  14. Thanks for the support everyone! I feel better now.
  15. By the way - I was told to fast for 12 hours, and that was about it on the directions. Does anyone know if it is ok to take Imodium or Lomotil the night before (as long as it is before that 12 hour time frame)? I've basically been living on this medicine and I'm not sure if it would upset the results at all. I'll probably have to give my doc a call just to...
