  1. Hello all! I'm new to the forums, but not new to celiacs. Diagnosed at 18 month old but not much known about the disease until when I was 18. Basically ate whatever I wanted up until that point. I moved out of the country and have been living overseas since and have found it easy to keep up with the diet with the stapele food of Nepal being all gluten...
  2. Hi all, strange question, but is buckwheat flour gluten-free? I've heard different arguements and last I heard it was. Since I use it a lot for baking mixed with rice flour, just wanted to make sure and hear any comments you may have. Thanks!
  3. Not having a spouse, I can't sympothize but I've had my share of insensitivity or whatever you'd call it. My brother and good friends made up a song... I know a food and its name is gluten. It's the best food in the world its gluten. Gluten. Gluten. It was pretty funny, but the best part was when he was diagnosed about a year and half afterwards...
  4. Indian food is delicious, and most gluten free! They may have a dish called dhal bhatt... very tastey, they eat it in Nepal. (just north) It consists of rice (bhatt), dhal (lentil soup type thing, makes the rice stick together to make it easier to eat with hands), and vegetables. The spices used are fine, but may be a little spicey to your liking...
  5. Hi, I'm living in Kathmandu, Nepal. Was wondering if anyone has lived in a third world country and tried cooking there? I've been here a year now and am getting sick of rice 3 times a day and wanted to swap some recipies or something of the sort.
  6. 109. Get on with life, it's too short to be lying around having a pity party. (Sometimes easier said then done) Having not had symptoms since I was 3 or 4, I'm 22 now, I forget what most of them are! From the looks of this list, I'm not looking forward to being glutened, which I'm afraid happens more often then I think. Wow, that was one long run...
  7. I was diagnosed from biopsy... no such thing as a blood work test back then when I was 18 months old. Strange thing, my twin does not have Celiac but my younger brother does. He was diagnosed by blood work, wow, 3 years ago now! Parents don't have.
