  1. Thank you so much for this information! This is helpful to know so when we move to Seattle and find a new doctor, I can ask for these tests before anything invasive. Thank you.
  2. I see, but in my post I stated I was waiting for those results. I suppose I'm wondering what patents do who have gotten negative test results but have children still experiencing issues. The rare occasion that my son has yogurt and peanut butter sandwiches he explodes. Was it the yogurt, peanuts, or the bread? Or something else. So now we're diving...
  3. I know that celiac is not a foods allergy, spey if my post was confusing. We originally grayed for it, now he's being tested for allergies. Alergic reactions can happen up to two hours of ingesting, but can also happen next day (one example:Open Original Shared Link ) When I go to the doctor tomorrow I'm going to have them explain the numbers and...
  4. Last January-March our 3 year old was complaining of headaches and his stomach hurting. Plus he was having extremely loose and frequent and stinky stools (so much it was almost impossible to potty train him). We took him to a GI doctor who said he had toddler diarrhea and to cut out almost all bread, sugar, certain fruits, and dairy. But we never did much...
  5. I guess what I'm wondering is lets say if a kid has gluten sensitivity or celiac and they take benefiber and their only indicator that they may have a problem is diarrhea that is now solved by the benefiber, isn't their issue just being masked? OR if the benifiber has taken care of his loose stool, is it really that he's just having fiber issues?
  6. I think i would be all fine if it were for the fact that he'll be 3 in July and without benefiber, he hasn't had a solid stool. I had a friend who's son had diarrhea really bad for a few months and then it stopped. Her brother-in-law who is a doctor said it isn't uncommon for a virus or bacteria (can't remember which) to hold on for a while and cause...
  7. I took my son to a GI doctor who after seeing that he's on target with everything (height and weight) "diagnosed" him with Toddler Diarrhea. He gave us a list of foods he should avoid, mostly saying to stay away from sugar and hidden sugars and to make sure he take Benefiber once a day. He hasn't had any traditional celiac or gluten sensitivity issues...
  8. Thanks for your suggestions. My husband and I are feeling very overwhelmed by this. We just "know", as parents often do, that it's a food issue. It's going to be extremely challenging to change the diets of 4 people (myself, husband, son, older daughter)- the only silver lining is that he'll feel better and our 4 month old will never have to make the transition...
  9. My son (will be 3yrs in July) has never had a solid poop. Which wasn't a concern of mine or even on my radar until I began to think about how that would impact his potty training in the near future. I then began thinking about his digestive habbits in general: Never had a solid poop Poop varies in colors (dark, light, white, black) Poop varies in consistency...
