  1. Yes I’m the same , I was diagnosed in 2015 then I was 11stone 6lb , in 2018 I dropped down to 11stone 0lb , it’s quite frightening, I eat well strict gluten free diet , I’m 5.7 feet , O don’t know the answer but the vague weight loss must be going somewhere, how long a period did you lose your weight ?
  2. Hi thanks again for the reply , no I don’t take any vitamin supplements or anything, my calories differ daily , I eat a lot of rice & pasta all gluten free , the wife makes a lot of meat meal which we have around 3 x week , my alcohol of choice is red wine , I don’t have any symptoms but definitely frustrating that I can’t put weight on still , I pos...
  3. Hi thanks for the reply , no not had a follow up biopsy , I thought as I’ve no gastrointestinal symptoms things must be ok especially with my ttg levels being well into the normal zone , it says that there’s no serum evidence of celiac disease that’s what the blood results read , I’ve e heard of refractory Celiac disease but not given it any real thought...
  4. Hi I was diagnosed Celiac several years ago 2015 , since then I’ve been on a strict gluten free diet , I’ve managed to get my ttg iga down to 2.8 last August , this year it was 4.0 , the reference range in uk at my particular lab is above >14.9 is positive so I must be doing something correctly! But I’ve started with what looks like discoid eczema , I’m...
  5. Thanks for the reply, I’ll try cutting out the carbs , the only dairy I have is milk in tea . I’ve been on the gluten-free diet for nearly two years now , I do eat a lot of carbs , but this last week I have been ravenous, pretty much how I was before I was diagnosed, my wife couldn’t fill me and combined with the weight loss I think this shouldn’t be happ...

  7. Hi , yes I’m a celiac, I had the endo done Aug 2016 , shows very smooth intestinal walls and lots of patchy inflammation etc , my latest bloods showed a drop in my antibodies 10.7 , so down from15.5 , maybe I had gluten exposure somewhere, but it’s a little concerning to me , I still eat like a horse ,
  8. Hi , thanks for the reply, the reason my calcium is quite high is because my parathyroid gland was all out of sync when I was first diagnosed , it controls the calcium levels in the blood, my parathyroid was taking the calcium from my bones and dumping it into my blood, hence I also have osteoporosis because of this disease. I cant understand why i'm losing...
  9. Hi , I'm slightly concerned with some weight loss I've been having , I've lost 5Ib in 7 weeks , I went from 11stone 5lb to 11stone , I weighed myself this morning , I haven't altered my diet and over the last couple of weeks , I started to eat more when I realised the weight loss was there , it has made no difference .I have been gluten free since August...
  10. Thank you again , I forwarded the link onto my brother who is a fan of "Corona " and he was astounded by the review, 200ppm , and its classed as safe ?! Well I don't think he'l be drinking it anymore ,like he says , he's spent the last year on a totally gluten free diet even buying his own pans and utensils thinking a couple of Corona's is fine , not knowing...
  11. Thank you for the replies , Its a big help to know there are lots of people in the same boat, willing to offer advice, my own brother is a Celiac and has spoken to me, its all very daunting what to eat and what not too eat and beer ... I like it a lot , but my brother drinks Corona and says its fine as are some Japanese lagers , many thanks again.
  12. Hi everybody, well , I received a text from the doctor late yesterday evening to go down this morning at 08.30 , so I did, he then gave me a report saying my diagnosis is as follows . "Patchy inflammation of the duodenal mucosa, increased intraepithelial lymphocytes , crypt hyperplasia with villous atrophy," so it seems he says , "You DO have Celiac disease...

  14. Many thanks , the other thing I was going to ask is , is it still possible to eat like a horse (which I do ) feel real hunger pangs , lose a couple of pounds , and still have functioning villi ? Its all a bit beyond me. I never put weight on , 72kg, if I was malabsorbing it would be a positive biopsy , maybe ?
  15. Many thanks for the replies , sorry for posting twice , I didnt realise it had posted twice ! Im seeing the doctor who did the endoscopy again at some point , but im not going to have another biopsy, Im going to try the diet and stick with it, see how it goes, I have the antibodies so possibly its that. Many thanks again
  16. Hi everybody, two years ago I went for a blood test for Celiac disease , my doctor suspected something was wrong , my brother has Celiac , biopsy confirmed this , anyway my blood test in 2014 confirmed the antibodies, I did have an appointment for a biopsy but cancelled it , we were going away , so I made another one then eventually got to a hospital near...
