  1. Oh i hope so!! I'm really anxious about the procedure as I've never done it before. I've been through operations but never an endoscopy and the thought of it is really scaring me! Thank you for giving me some courage!
  2. No worries!!! Yes I've been completely gluten free for over a year now, except when I get glutened from restaurants etc. My 'traces symptoms' have always been major bloating and lots of bathroom breaks but now during my gluten challenge so far I've had some super crazy symptoms... varying from loose stools to severe constipation, bloating 24/7, shortness...
  3. The doctor suspected celiac specifically, and he said 3-4 weeks would be enough... I understand that there are multiple recommendations varying from 3 weeks to 3 months but from what I've read I think 4 weeks will most probably not be enough for a positive result in the case that I am celiac.
  4. I've been eating gluten for 4 weeks now, as recommended by my doctor, to test for Celiac. Today I got 'some' of my blood test results back, although not all... I have my biopsy test scheduled for tomorrow morning, but I don't know if I should go through with it or not if the other results are not back by morning (which would show a clear positive or negative...
  5. Hey thanks for the reply! That totally makes sense, I don't know how I didn't think of that... (regarding the pill) I did talk to my doctor regarding the shortness of breath and he just said that it's 'normal' that I have these kind of symptoms while eating gluten... My symptoms now include a bloated stomach and belly which bloats even more...
  6. Hey and thanks for the reply I'm noticing different symptoms every day and to be honest I don't know if i'm gonna be able to put up with this for much longer. I did have some swelling in my lips, but it didn't look too bad - no change in colour and only a bit swollen, and I didn't have any pain.. After a few hours it was back to normal so i'm not making...
  7. Hey So I've been gluten free for over a year now, and not i'm on the gluten challenge so I can test for Celiac... Around the time I started noticing that gluten was making me really sick, I started having A LOT of sleep problems. I suffered with insomnia for years so I just thought it was 'normal' for me... I would sleep a maximum of 4 hours per night...
  8. Hi again and thanks for the reply I spoke to my doctor earlier today about the shortness of breath etc and he said I've got to put up with it if I really want to go through with the test... He said I shouldn't worry too much about the symptoms I'm getting cause 'severe symptoms are normal' when on the gluten challenge.. I'll try...
  9. Hey, After a year of being gluten free, it was recommended I take up the gluten challenge for celiac testing as my symptoms have gotten much worse (even traces are effecting me real bad)... I've been on the gluten challenge for 5 days now, and i'm noticing some vaginal bleeding (as well as other strange symptoms such as shortness...
  10. Could be but I still think it was the gluten traces.. cheese never makes me so sick and the nachos were clearly not in a 'gluten-free friendly environment'. I've felt sick for 3 days, lots of bathroom intervals and other symptoms after eating 1 ferrero rocher a while ago when I first started my gluten free diet. I didn't think it would make me so sick...
  11. Hey and thanks for your replies The test I had done was the food intolerance test not allergy - although I know it's known not to be accurate. I'm doing the gluten challenge so I can test for celiac through both blood test and biopsy, and although I have heard of the gene test I don't believe it's done in my country (Malta). - I will confirm...
  12. To start from the beginning, I was born intolerant to milk (casein, not lactose). The milk intolerance has 'improved' but I still can't tolerate more than some cheese per day (not complaining)... A bit over a year ago I started having severe bloating, and pain every time I eat, (being a vegetarian I always have some form of wheat containing carbs in my...
