  1. Just wanted to tell everyone thanks for answering my questions! We are still debating whether to start the diet or not, but I have my gluten-free shopping list all made up after reading the posts in the gluten-free Products/Foods area! Thanks again, Elaine
  2. Thank-you all for your responses! Christine, yes, Brent does have lots of the GI symptoms, plus seizures which started about a year and a half ago. I just recently began finding posts about Gluten Intolerance or Celiac Disease aggravating/causing seizures. That is when we really began trying to find out if he has GI or celiac disease. Nini and others on...
  3. Hi! We just got our 13 year old son's test results from Enterolab today and are a little confused... He shows negative on everything but does have two copies of the gene that (Quote): "predisposes to gluten sensitivity (DQ1 or DQ3 not subtype8). Having two copies of a gluten sensitive gene means that each of your parents, and all of your children will...
  4. Just got my son's Enterolab Gluten Sensitive and Complete Gene Panel results - everything came back within normal ranges. The IgA was 6 out of 10, Fecal Fat was 89 out of 300, anti-casein was 5 out of 10. At the end of report it says he has two copies of a gene that predisposes to gluten sensitivity ("DQ1 or DQ3 not subtype 8"). It says having two copies...
  5. Hi! I'm still reading and learning so much from you all here and am sending my son's Enterolab samples off in the morning for testing. I'm also going to try and persuade my brother and mother to be tested if my son's tests are positive. My question is this - My brother had none of the tiny red sores on his face (that I think are DH), yesterday, and last...
  6. Thanks, you guys for your quick responses! It's just so new and overwhelming for me to believe my whole family has this! Their sores are flat, red, kind of oozy sometimes. My mom has them mostly on her scalp and my brother has them on his face, shoulders, & calves. My son has always had a chronic rash all over his thighs since a baby that no doctor has...
  7. O.K. Would you all please give me your input as to how many different ways there are for this DH rash to look? I've examined photos at different websites and believe my mother and brother and son have this, but there rashes are not so profuse as these photos and are different from each other's, also! Any quick descriptions would be appreciated! Thanks...
  8. Hi! I'm new to this site, forgive my new questions! We're planning on having our son tested through Enterolab after reading so many positive testimonials. Can anyone tell me if dermatitis herpetiformis (that was mentioned earlier in this thread), always looks exactly like the photos you find online? He doesn't get the violent looking, itchy big blisters...
