  1. Stephanie, Welcome to the board and know there is a lot of great info here. I agree with Stacie, the sites she listed are great. I made copies of the safe and forbidden foods and carry mine right into the grocery store and check everything! I was thrilled to find Open Original Shared Link because it contains so much by brand name and that helped...
  2. Lucy, I forgot to mention that I usually have to add extra milk to this recipe. It makes up to thick to fry by the recipe, I guess because of the rice flour, so I just add milk till it stirs up to a consistancy that looks and cooks OK. I've only baked it once and don't remember if I added any then. I think the 2 eggs might help it not be so crumbly,...
  3. Lucy, My recipe is SOOO similar to the other one posted here but here it is. I got it off the back of a bag of cornmeal. I only substituted rice flour for the wheat flour they had suggested, then I thought about the potato flour and added it. CORNBREAD 1 1/2 cups cornmeal 1/3 cup rice flour (see note below) potato flour ...
  4. Hi, I guess it pays to look around--I just found the Recipe Section a couple of clicks from here. Do I have a RED FACE or what!! Granny
  5. 1/2 cup tahini 1/4 cup lemon juice 2/3 cup tahini Forgive me, but what is Tahini? I've never heard of it. Also I can't have onions or scallions, so can I just leave them out or do I need to substitute something for them? Didn't you say in another place that this is really healing for the intestins? Is dried parsley OK? I don't use fresh herbs...
  6. Kathleen, If it's permissable, will you include the amounts of each flour in Betty Hagan's Featherlight mix. Like a cup of this and 1 1/2 c. of that. Every day I promise myself that I'll get one of her books from the library but haven't made it yet. I hear so much about her here and would love to try some of her stuff. Thanks, Granny
  7. midnightjewel40, Thanks for posting your recipe. I love Cheesecake but thought that sweet condensed milk contained gluten. I DO HOPE I'm wrong! What brand do you use?? Do you have a recipe for a plain cheesecake? I wish they would make a Recipe section on this board like the one on the old board. It was so helpful! Oh, the rice biscuits that...
  8. Lily, Are you saying that your doctor only did the endoscopy and was able to do the biopsy that way?? I thought that my doctor had indicated that he could do that but hadn't heard anyone else refer to the biopsy being done that way so wasn't sure. When my doctor tried to do the biopsy when doing the colonoscopy, he wasn't able to get into the small intestions...

    ARCHIVED I Give Up!

I really hope you can hang on to the knowledge that so many of us have been where you are now! I Still haven't gained weight but I do feel better. I had to give up lactose as well as the wheat and it was no picnic. But after 13 months of dirrhea, sometimes as much as 30+ times a day and accidents daily, I have finally begun to see improvements in bowel...
  10. Hi Tracy, I don't know if this will help you as I've never frozen my bread, I just put it in like zip-lock bags and refrigerate it. I've also never made GOOD light bread! But I do make a lot of cornbread, substituting rice flour for wheat flour. I fry this in an 8 IN. skillet like a pancake and use it for sandwiches. It was always more crumbly than...
  11. Hi Lisa, I can really relate to your message as I did the same thing! I had Potato flour, soy flour, and rice flour-I good combination I Thought! I saw a recipe I wanted to try ( substituting what I had for what the recipe called for) and talk about wet and heavy!! I even baked it in the oven for an hour after taking it from the bread maker<grin>...
  12. HI Jessica, Thanks so much for the recipe-I'd wondered if I'd EVER get to eat a Pineapple Upside Down Cake again!! I'm making one tomorrow! This said it was printed from Allrecipes: is this a site, book, or what? I'm very new at this and just enjoyed a Brownie (from the recipe section here) and it is so wonderful to have a baked item after Thanksgiving...
