CULINARY INSTITUTE of AMERICA (CIA) GLUTEN-FREE mini GETAWAY IX Hyde Park, NY May 18 - 20, 2014 (Optional 3rd Night - Departing May 21)
We're proud to announce our 9th mini Getaway to this beautiful area of New York State in the spring and the Culinary Institute of America campus - one of the premier Culinary Schools in the World.
Sunday night we'll have a casual wine and cheese meet-and-greet the first evening at the hotel with the CIA's Certified Master Bakery Chef Instructor and Author - Richard Coppedge.
Monday after breakfast at the hotel, we'll have a tour of the CIA Campus. Then Lunch at one of the CIA's gourmet restaurants on campus. Following that we'll meet at the Port in Poughkeepsie to board the boat for a cruise along the beautiful Hudson River. Later that evening, we'll have dinner at another of the CIA's restaurants.
Tuesday after breakfast we'll take a short ride down the road - or is it up to the mountain top - to the Mohonk Mountain Resort, America's oldest family-owned resort built in 1869. We'll have a tour of the grounds and building; a Chef's Talk on culinary traditions in their kitchen; and a specially arranged Gluten-free lunch.
This is the end of our 2 Night mini Getaway, but because so many of our members wanted more time to explore Mohonk and other places of interest in the area last time, we have added an Optional additional night's stay.
That evening we have arranged a more casual dinner with a Tex-Mex flair.
Wednesday after breakfast we'll meet at the Millbrook Vineyards & Winery, critically acclaimed as the Hudson Valley's #1 Winery for a tour and tasting of 5 of their wines.
As always all we have designed and arranged special Gluten-free meals for all of our meals.
The last time we offered this mini Getaway it sold out and we had to turn people away. We are limited to 45 persons due to the space available for groups at the CIA's restaurants. Make your reservations as soon as you can.
