A couple of useless tidbits....on Gilligan's Island the Skipper's full name was Jonas Grumby, and Gilligan's first name was Willy.

Trying what to decide to make wif dinner--au gratin potates or Julie's roasted sweet potatoes.....<thoughtphulphace>.....

This is what I decided to do--took cubed sweet potatoes, drizzled wif olive oil and honey, sprinkled wif garlic powder and salt. Sounded good, and much easier than making a cheese sauce. ;)

Glad to see you're back! Start small with "toe-slapping" and work your way up!

Might taste even better if you put them in a hot oven for a bit. :)

Actually, in this case we have been. It has impacted my availability as a mod, so they needed to know.

Here's a brief version of the story. Please do NOT make any comments about this on the book. Keep it here among the sillies.

Jacquie has had discomfort for some time due to large fibroids. She had surgery to remove them, along with everything else "female" from the cervix upward. The larger fibroid was about 10cm in diameter. There were some difficulties, and she had an additonal procedure Thursday. She is likely going to be kept until at least Monday.

The recovery process involves restricted activity including no driving for four weeks. So I will be busy between running our business without her help, and taking extra time to look after her.

:o Oh Poeter, my goodness!! Such trauma!! Glad she is in hospital and being looked after..........hope this all clears up quite soon!

Gads, I leave dh home for 4 hours and he decides to clean house. GREAT idea since his baby tubes were sliced and diced yesterday :rolleyes: Guess who was writhing on the sofa wif an orange-sized hematoma in his left groin....pseriously, do I have to babysit everyone?!?!?! :blink:

I met some other mom's at the zoo this morning and took and extra 4 year old boy wif me (jackson), as well as my 8 year old. When the 2 boys got in the car, the immediately started dishing about Ava, who is in their class (and would be at the zoo), see Jackson and Ava are quite the 'item' and Max wants her to himself (since his set of twins moved away :huh:) , so he and Jackson were trying to work out a deal. Initially Jackson was willing to sell her off for 50 quarters and by the end of the car ride, she was down to 5 dollars in cash and 21 quarters and Jackson would no longer be building the house he promised her.... I was laughing so hard. Poor Ava :lol: :lol: And this was poor Madeleine's phace thru the whole morning :blink:

So cute about Skeeter and her new ear holes

Madeleine found out today I used to have a tongue ring.....Hard to explain that one. I think what came out of my mouth was "uh, uh, uh, I WAS OVER 18!!!" :huh::lol:

MY LIVING WILL

Last night, my family and I were sitting in the living room and I said to them, 'I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine, drinking fluids from a bottle. If that ever happens, just pull the plug.'

They got up, unplugged the Computer, and threw out my wine.

Your math is solid, although I find estimates of gluten in white bread at 10-12% rather than the 8% you use. Somewhat contradicting what I wrote before, I agree with you that it would be difficult to ingest ...

I know I am not consuming gluten or coming into contact with gluten from any other source. I will stop touching/tossing bread outside! I did reach out to two major hospitals and currently waiting on approval for one of them in Infectious Diseases to call me.       @nancydrewandtheceliacclue, you are welcome. After looking at this thread again, I would like to suggest that some of the other comments from @Russ H are worth following up on. The bird-bread may or may not be contributing to what you are experiencing, but it seems unlikely to be the whole story. If you have access to decent healthcare, I would write down your experiences and questions in outline form and bring this to your Dr. I suggest writing it down so you don't get distracted from telling the Dr everything you want to say while you have their attention.

Somewhat contradicting what I wrote before, I agree with you that it would be difficult to ingest 10 mg from flinging bread.  However, I would still suggest that @nancydrewandtheceliacclue take precautions against exposure in this activity. I'm not an expert, I could easily be wrong, but if someone is experiencing symptoms and has a known exposure route, it's possible that they are susceptible to less than 10 mg / day, or it is possible that there is/are other undetected sources of exposure that together with this one are causing problems. At any rate, I would want to eliminate any exposure until symptoms are under control before I started testing the safety of potentially risky activities. My diet has not changed, and I do not have reactions to the things I am currently eating, which are few in number. My auto immune reaction just seems so severe. The abdominal pain is extreme. It takes a lot out of me. I guess I will be this way for the rest of my life if I ever happen to come into contact with gluten? I appreciate the help.

Neither did surgeon)in 2006 and there was a leak 2023 during the same time I was dealing with covid, digestive issues, eyes and skin.Considering I " should  be fine" not consuming gluten/wheat, taking vitamins for sibo and STILL feeling terrible.It has to be parasites. I also take individual eye drops prescribed, could there be an issue there? Anyways my pcp thinks I need therapy because again they don't acknowledge my digestive issues because in my records it shows im fine, hintz the reason I had to go back to bay area hospital:(  I thought skin issues maybe sibo related but I feel and have seen and seriously trying not to think about it because it's disgusting.

      oops. I didn't see that before posting or I would have at least referenced it. The two recipes are pretty similar, but I think the newer one is a little simpler/faster. Next time though I will search more before posting.
