ARCHIVED Another Success Story, With Some Problem
Dyang replied to Dyang's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I'd like to report that my left lower back has stopped hurting. I also want to relate to you an exercise clue. Up until a few years ago, when I was in my early 40's, I was able to do leg raise with the body horizontal on a bench and with added weight, about 15 to 20 pounds, at the ankle. (Of course, the range of motion was so small that there was never... -
ARCHIVED Wal-mart "great Value" Products
Dyang posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I found some processed foods called "Great Value" in Wal-mart that are labelled as Gluten Free. Luncheon Meat Diced Tomato Have you had problem with these? Also, their salad dressings seem to indicate gluten free, except that they say "processed in facility that also process wheat" Do you used these foods? -
ARCHIVED Another Success Story, With Some Problem
Dyang posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I start gluten-free diet mid-July this year, for a bit less than two months. I have been dead serious about ruling out the smallest bits of gluten, no processed foods. I have been cooking from absolute bare ingredients. I wanted answer quickly. My joint pain has subsided in some areas and almost disappeared in others. I now have very little to no... -
ARCHIVED Help Turning Into A Salad.
Dyang replied to Hells Bells's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I frequently bring a small rice cooker with me and cook in my room. I don't cook rice with it though. I go to a supermarket and get the leanest ground beef (5% fat) and frozen veggies. I just dump all ingredients into the cooker. In a few minutes it is done. It gets to be monotonous, but this is the price I gladly pay to be gluten-free. Sometimes veggies... -
I think eating gluten-free is inconvenient only for those who have to travel a lot. When I eat at home I find eating gluten-free easy to follow. I have always shunned processed foods even before gluten-free diet. It is now a matter of choosing the ingredients more carefully. Commercial seasonings and condiments have never been to my liking. Now I just...

I am also feeling better after being gluten-free for about six weeks by now. My shoulder joint pain has diminished significantly. Actually, I have resumed moderate weight training with bench pressure. I still have to grip with elbows closed but I have better range of movement in my left shoulder. It doesn't hurt when I workout except that I have to limit...

ARCHIVED What Is Teeth Discoloration?
Dyang replied to Dyang's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
No I don't smoke or drink much coffee. The dark brown stain started about four years ago. -
ARCHIVED gluten-free Soy Sauce
Dyang posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I think I have found a gluten-free soy sauce. It is made of black beans, salt, sugar, and glutinous rice. I think "glutinous rice" has no gluten. "yin you". It is quite thick and viscous. -
ARCHIVED Sensation Of Chill
Dyang posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Do many celiac disease sufferers feel great sensation to cold and get chilled easily? I have to wear a sweater when most everyone is comfortable with short sleeve. I'd would get sick if I don't wear extra clothing. Docters cannot find thyroid problem. -
ARCHIVED What Is Teeth Discoloration?
Dyang posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms

ARCHIVED Non Celiac Gluten Intolerance
Dyang replied to Dyang's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
This really is my point: I want to feel better sooner so I should start gluten-free diet now instead of continuing to eat gluten and wait for a couple of months of doctor and lab visits. Moreover, what if, after a few months when the test results came in negative for celiac, then what? I will still go on the gluten-free diet to see for myself anyway. ... -
ARCHIVED Non Celiac Gluten Intolerance
Dyang posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Open Original Shared Link Is there really such a disease as non celiac gluten intolerance? -
Imagine if 95% of the water is poured away each wash, there would still be 5% left. The most thorough is to use a colander, then any CC would be nil.

ARCHIVED Antibodies For Testing--days
Dyang posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
It seems that it would only take a few days of eating wheat for antibodies to be formed and detected. What I am driving at is that after trial with gluten-free diet one can be tested for celiac after only a few days of eating wheat. Am I right? What is the great necessity to confirm celiac disease before trying gluten-free diet? Open Original Shared... -
Do you have to wash the rice before cooking? Do wheat and rice grow in the same climate and conditions? What are the chances of CC without washing it first?

Pasta sauce on rice I sometimes put pasta sauce on rice. It has: crushed tomatos mushroom fresh garlic salt spices and other natural flavorings Is "other natural flavorings" gluten free?

A can of curry powder I just bought has: cumin seeds fennel seeds chilli star anise seeds coriander seeds cinnamon turmeric mustard seeds peanuts white pepper poppy seeds Does it contain any gluten? I don't see any wheat, rye, barley or oat. A site that I visited says one should be very careful about curry powder. Is it because it may...

ARCHIVED Practical Approach
Dyang posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I am pretty sure that I have problem with wheat based foods. I have had a long bout with GI tract problems. For a long time I have had constipation and diarreha within the same bowel. IBS was the diagnosis. After I have much reduced wheat (and most grains) from my diet, my IBS almost disappeared. Starting about three years ago, I have been battling... -
Best would be in the Inland Empire area of Southern Cal Any reference is appreciated. Also, what medical discipline has the best chance of having good celiac disease doctors? My GI tract has gotten better after I have much reduced wheat products. However, I still have very dry skin and dry eyes, dry month with dark stain on teeth, numerous dark...
