  1. He is staying home from school at this point. The sad story is, there are really not any other pediatric GI docs in this area. The other docs, are all with the same office. So, if they had an opening they would have given it to me. I faxed his file to the GI doc though, and he is going to look at it and call me. Maybe squeeze him in. We'll see. He is feeling...
  2. Avery is feeling so horrible! We can't get in to the GI doc til the 22nd of December. He is so uncomfortable he was crying before school this mornign because he was scared he'd have an accident. His bowels are so lose when he finally has them that he really doesn't have time to make it to the toilet every time. He is only 3, potty training is still a work...
  3. Avery has had no allergy testing as of yet. We finally got a referral to my younger son's GI doc this morning. Hopefully he will know something that helps.
  4. From all the research I have done on Miralax, and from my younger sons GI doc's recommendation, I just do not feel comfortable with Miralax. "I" don't think he is constipated at all. I think his guts are contracting, trying to poop, but there is nothing there to poop. Eventually he will go, but his tummy hurts til he does.
  5. So, my oldest(not little Lanigan this time) is having an issue. He tries to poop so hard he almost makes himself throw up. Although, he acts like he has no control over his pushing. Nothing happens. No poop. Then about 1-3 hours later, he will have HORRIBLE runny stools. Like water. And his belly hurts. He is also peeing all the time. Every 30 minutes to...
  6. Lanigan seems to be doing a little bit better. He has gained some more weight, and hasn't had a fever since the last time I posted.(about 2 weeks now)... He has thrown up a lot in the last 2 days, with no change in his diet, but I am starting to get use to and even almost predict these cycles. He seems much happier though, so mommy feels better. Thanks everyone...
  7. I'm not entirely sure how this whole referal thing is going to go for us... it might be complicated. i guess we'll see. We have filed formal complaints though.
  8. We took him to the emergency room of the children's hospital last night. The doc there said that there are suspicious things that need to be looked into. He gave us a couple more referrals. One to a ped Neuro and one to infectious disease. His temp is responding to meds, just not going completely away. It hangs out around 103 with meds. We are trying to write...
  9. I'm done with this blasted hospital! The retardo ped told me that fever that high are NOT anything to worry about and do NO damage. Whatever... she never even looked in his throat. Or his mouth. Only his ears and pushed on his tummy. She looked at his old labs, said that they look weird, but that she doesn't want to rerun them til he is healthy...(when the...
  10. DS has a fever AGAIN! It was only 102 yesterday, but spiked to over 105 this morning. Fortunately, motrin seems to be knocking it down to at least 102 again. I am so tired of this happening to him, and no one seems to have any answers for me... virus virus virus... i am so tired of hearing that blasted word! it seems like their excuse for anything they can...
  11. oh for sure... i just wish we had an answer. so that i had some idea of how to make him feel better...
  12. i don't suppose my 10 month old is gonna be jumping up and down anytime soon... at least not on his own.
  13. thanks for the article.
  14. we are working on filing complaints. we have started... talked to a couple of people. it is just a pain cause it is a military hospital and so we have to go through the heirarchy of it all... blah. wears me out. more than i already am. i do agree though, that his immune system is probally weakened. or at least weaker than a typical kids... my 3 year old...
  15. nope, he has had no vaccines in over 2 months. he developes a fever like this about every 3-5 weeks. serisouly, thats crazy!! i keep being shrugged off and told that kids get sick 10 times a year. well, i don't like it. and i disagree. i think if a kid starts getting sick as often as mine does, along with the other GI issues, and being underweight, there...
  16. he has no other symptoms of kawasaki... and he was tested for mono... not the culprit this time!
  17. we have 2 appointments next monday... with his specialists. no, we still have no dx, aside from "virus"... again, i totally understand that a virus is a possibility, and not that unrealistic of one, however, i feel that as of late "virus" has been a coverall for unexplained illness... especially since the doc would tell me that his blood work does not...
  18. Lanigan is doing better. His doesn't have a fever anymore, but still has a rash and NO appetite. No, we haven't gotten clarification for Doc... what stinks is that he had gained 5 ounces, and then when he was sick lost all of it plus some... boo...
  19. He seems to be doing a little better today. His temp isn't nearly as high this afternoon as it has been. He is still not eating really... But he is drinking okay. I am thankful for that. I am requesting that they test him for West Nile Virus. I am usually not one to get caught up in hysterics, but we have found 6 dead birds in our yard in the last 2-3 weeks...
  20. So, the problem is that we have military insurance. Everything that we have one outside of the base hospital requires a referal, or we pay out of pocket. So, the threat about showing up in Boise occured after I requested a referral to take him to the Chilren's hospital ER. The one that continually keeps sending me home isn't the ER, it is his PEDIATRITION...
  21. Alright, so DS has had a temp of over 105 for 3 days now. The hospital here is driving me crazy. I mean, I really want to beat my head into the wall First we take him in and his temp is 104.8, they run labs, and his white count is elevated. Every kind of white blood cell is elevated(his monos, lymphs...etc) They say it doesn't look viral, or bacterial, according...
  22. thanks for the hugs... they are much needed.... i am just so frustrated with the whole medical field. so yesterday we go in, his temp is 104.8, they tell me not to worry, its not a big deal til it hit 105(til it hits, goodness could we have been much closer?)... so this mornign we go in, temp is 105.3, they tell me not to worry til it is 106. can they make...
  23. We are headed back to the Dr this morning. His temp is 105.3. I do realize this could very well all be unrelated, but I am finding it hard to believe. They find NOTHING wrong with him. His white count is slightly elevated. I find this all so hard to believe. That trained medical professionals are putting this off on me, instead of doing their jobs. Or at...
  24. I am pretty sure he is entirely gluten free. I am not POSITIVE, as I am human and I screw up lots, but pretty darn close to positive. I have been on the diet myself before, and fell off of it, so it's not like I am just starting from nothing...Know what I mean? I am getting so stinking frustrated though. He was in the ER tonight, because his fever spiked...
  25. So, all of his results are in. His biopsies look okay, aside from some esophageal damage, and some damage in his colon. Fairly minor, but doc said it would be worse if he wasn't only 10 months old. He is allergic to nothing(the 20 food allergy panel) and all other test results look fine. Oh, he is slightly anemic. So, I have now been told that I have til...
