  1. No problem, I get a lot of my recipes from two really great websites. They don't specialize in gluten-free cooking, but their recipes are easily modified to be gluten-free. www.fatfree.com - A low-fat vegetarian and some vegan foods recipe archive www.fatfreevegan.com - A low-fat vegan recipe archive, which has a gluten-free section, and many of the...
  2. Thanks for the advice, maybe distracting him and getting off the subject is the best idea. As for the ED accusations, the sad part is I'm at a pretty normal weight, mostly because I started out pretty overweight mind, but still (5'7" and 126 pounds, from 180 or so). I've only got about a year of school left, and after that I'll be moving out, so there's...
  3. I'm a vegan in addition to a celiac due to some additional food intolerances and ethical reasons, so I'm wondering if anyone has some good gluten-free vegan bread recipes? At the moment I'm on a restricted fat diet from my doctor as treatment for some esophogeal reflux, so adding oils or digestable fats to my diet is pretty much out of the question, and...
  4. I'm a self-diagnosed celiac too, I've had so many probes and tests done, and I'm sick of the idiot doctors prodding at me. I had never even heard of Celiac disease until they sent me to a gastroenterologist and they did a blood test for it, which came up negative, but when I went to study it a lot of the symptoms were remarkably similar to what I was experiencing...
  5. I know how you feel too, I'm 16 and recently diagnosed. I think the hardest part will probably be adjusting to it, and after that process is over it'll be easier to cope with. I've found that brown rice pasta is very tasty, and I like to have that with a tomato sauce or in soups, and you can make it into all sorts of dishes. Also, Indian food is very good...
  6. I'm really at a loss for what to do at the moment. I'm 16, so I still live with my dad. He doesn't quite seem to understand that because I'm a celiac, I can't have ANY traces of gluten, and that it's a lifelong commitment, and seems to be in denial about the fact that I have the disorder. He's always telling me that he's sure I'll be able to eat anything...
  7. I've also had problems regarding testing. Because of my symptoms, all of which got progressively worse over a period of about 8 months, and how much a gluten-free diet has helped, I'm certain I'm a Celiac. However my blood test came up negative, and they never bothered to look further into it because it's a "rare" disorder I think that the only accurate...
