  1. Hey everybody.... i just need some help with what I can and cannot eat... getting frusterated... have had a week full of sickness and I don't know why :S Can I have ketchup, icing sugar, baking powder and baking soda? What about rice krispies? I thought I could have them, but I just read something that said I might not be able to... does anyone get sick from rice krispies? Fries from restaurants are okay right? Any help would be great.. thanks!
  2. I've been on the gluten free diet for a few weeks now.. and today my mom made banana bread with kinnikinnick mix instead of flour. I was so excited to be able to eat bread.. but now my stomach hurts like it used to.. I thought I could eat things made with the mix instead of flour.. we used all the other ingredients in the normal recipe.. margarine, sugar, eggs, banana, frozen fruit, baking soda, baking powder and salt..
  3. My dad is trying it! I found some really good gluten free cookies that i'm gonna give to him when I see him this weekend too... hopefully i will get him to like them and keep trying the diet... they are called kinnikinnick double chocolate almond cookies and they actually taste like real cookies..lol didn't know that was possible untlil now! good luck with your dad!
  4. okay.. i was just diagnosed with celiac a few days ago and everything makes sense now. I went through some pretty bad years of feelin sick and also had some bouts of depression. My dad gets the same stomach pains as I did so we think that he has celiac too but he hasnt been tested yet. He said he will get tested.. but he doesnt really think its that serious. I've explained everything I have learned about the disease to him too. He just kind of shrugs it off and makes excuses to still eat gluten. I just don't understand why anyone would want to keep damaging themselves if they know they can feel better... I'm excited about this new diet and seeing how much better I can feel! Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can make my dad realize that this really is serious and that he should get it fixed now? The longer you leave it the more you damage yourself right?
  5. Thanks everyone for all the advice and for just making me feel better! It's so nice to realize that i'm not alone.. My family doesn't seem to really understand how frusterating it can be to have this problem. I went and got some kinnikinnick bread mix and some wheat-free waffles today. It made me feel so much better... looking forward to trying them. I'm checking out the newbie survival kit from nini right now too... awesome stuff.. thanks so much!
  6. Hi everyone.. I was just diagnosed with celiac a a few days ago. I just wanted to know how you deal with it.. I went through my cupboards and i cant eat any of it! I know that I can look at cookbooks and stuff from this website.. What about Christmas? Is there such a thing as gluten free stuffing?
