I agree. It seems that coeliac disease and perhaps other autoimmune conditions cause inflammation and therefore trigger appendicitis etc. -

My 7 year old daughter has had appendicitis twice, removed the second time. First time was before she was diagnosed with coeliac but definitely suffering coeliac symptoms , second time was a month after she was diagnosed type 1 diabetic.
