  1. Joie, Thanks for sharing your experience. It sounds like you have alot on your plate! I can understand your concern re. the cirrhosis - since you need your liver to live it is scary when it is unhealthy! Most people say they have a totally normal life with autoimmune hepatitis when it is treated. When I was diagnosed with celiac disease I was relieved...
  2. Thanks for your response. Do you happen to know what kind of thyroid problems your sister has? I would be curious to know what her ASMA test level was and if she also had elevated liver levels and thyroid antibodies. If you could find out any information that would be great and very appreciated! They say that autoimmune hep. isn't uncommon, yet I don...
  3. Hi, I've been diagnosed with celiac disease since 2003. I have 1 daughter with celiac disease, one with inconclusive (but most likely) celiac disease and vitiligo and one son who has been gluten-free since birth. I have various autoimmune disorders on both sides of the family. The last 6 months I've been training for a triathlon and have noticed many...
  4. Thanks for the info. I have posted on stopthethyroidmadness forum to see if I am even looking in the right direction. My gp has not tested T3 and T4 (is that right?) since I don't think she was initially looking for a thyroid problem, but had ordered the workup since she thought I had fibroids. If she can acknowledge that something is "off" I'm sure this...
  5. Hi, I've been gluten-free for 4 years, since diagnosis thru bloodwork and biopsy. The past 6 months I have not been feeling well - experiencing many hypothyroid symptoms (fatigue, weight gain, cold, fluid retention, low blood pressure, low body temp, low sex drive, etc...). I recently was in to see my dr. for menstrual problems and she ordered a battery...
  6. Thanks for the info. I am also worried about problems from the water - it seems like when I have a stomach virus or the like I have stomach problems for much longer than others without celiac disease - not sure if it takes longer for us to heal or what. I've read that there is a Costco there - wondering if it would be best to shop there when I arrive...
  7. SORRY! MEANT TO POST THIS ON THE gluten-free DINING BOARD!

    ARCHIVED In & Out Burger

Hi! I'm not sure where the one in Vegas is located, but yes, the fries are gluten-free. You can order a protein burger (patty wrapped in lettuce). I've heard that the special sauce is not gluten-free, although I've not confirmed this directly with In-n-Out, I don't order to be on the safe side (plus, I don't like it ). The only thing I do is take...
  9. Hi, I tried posting this on the travel board, but received no responses. I thought I'd try this board, as well. I'm going to Mexico for the first time since being gluten-free. Does anyone have any advice for me? We will be staying in Cabo and am wondering if anyone can give restaurant recommendations? Thanks!
  10. Hi, I'm going to Cabo San Lucas in a couple of months. I haven't been to Cabo before, and haven't been to Mexico since being diagnosed 4 yrs. ago (well - one day excursion off of cruise ship doesn't count since I didn't eat there). Any suggestions of where to go and what to eat? What about buying food at a store - what about ingredient labeling? ...
