Please, please, please respond if you have had a bad reaction to Lundberg's BBQ Rice Chips, or any of Lundberg's Rice Chips. There are a number of people using this forum of have complained they felt ill after eating them. It's important that we figure out if there is a problem, and address it with Lundberg's. FYI, all of Lundberg's products are processed...

ARCHIVED Looking For Gluten-free Restaurants Etc. In Ireland And Denmark
georgiagirl replied to Rusla's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
Rusia, If you are in Dublin, try Cornucopia (amazing restaurant) on Wicklow Street and Cafe Fresh at Powerscourt. Both are in easy walking distance if you are in Dublin City Center and have lots of gluten-free options. Just a couple of doors down from Cornucopia is Nourish, a great health food store that sells gluten free foods. Check out their... -
ARCHIVED Hitting Rock Bottom Today
georgiagirl replied to georgiagirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks so much to all of you who replied and offered me support. I can't tell you how much it means to me. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm feeling better now, both physically and emotionally. Thanks for letting me wallow in a bit of self-pity for a while. -
Hi everyone, I'm three months diagnosed, and three months gluten free. I ate something last night at the beginning of a great concert. It was labeled as gluten free, but obviously had gluten in it, or was cross-contaminated. The abdominal pain was excrutiating. I suffered through the concert (miserable) and came home and cried myself to sleep...

ARCHIVED Tricks To Get Me To Take My Vitamins?
georgiagirl replied to a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I admit that I hate taking my vitamins and have been bad about doing so since I was diagnosed 3 months ago. I also feel guilty about not doing so. The reason that I have problems is in the past I've taken vitamins that have made me feel very nauseated, and I associate that feeling with vitamins. Here's some incentives that I'm trying this month... -
ARCHIVED Retainer/denture Cleaner
georgiagirl posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi there, I have been using Efferdent (denture cleaner) to clean my retainer. It was working great, but I e-mailed the company to check if it's gluten-free, and they said they could not confirm that it is gluten-free. Anyone know of a gluten-free alternative that I could use to clean my retainer? Thanks! Georgia Girl -
Hi everyone, I've been gluten free for about 2 months now. I've had amazing results since going gluten-free - boundless energy, positive mood, not stomach ache, feeling amazing! That is, up until Tuesday. I didn't consciously eat any gluten (I won't dream of it), but all of my old symptoms (distension, bloating, gas, stomach ache, headache, irritability...

ARCHIVED Ordering gluten-free Without Making A Stir At A Restuarant
georgiagirl replied to georgiagirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thank you all for the help and support. The meal was a big success. The restaurant was amazing at accomodating my gluten-free needs. I asked the waiter to bring me some fresh fruit for when the birthday cake was served. That really made it easier so I wasn't just watching everyone else eat and feeling deprived. I teased everyone that my fruit was really... -

I've been gluten free for 3 weeks and I'm seeing very dramatic positive benefits. I no longer have the terrible fatigue, bloating, allergy symptoms, etc. The overall benefits are extremely positive. Instead of collapsing asleep before 10:30pm, I now am often up past midnight. One unexpected negative change since I've gone gluten free is more occurrence...

ARCHIVED Having A Scary Episode Of Vertigo
georgiagirl replied to mesmerize's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Wow, maybe it is a symptom of celiac disease. I am newly diagnosed and had 2 very weird attacks of vertigo about a year ago. They both scared me to death and sound similar to your experience. The first "attack" I had was when I was fast asleep. The sensation woke me up it was so powerful. It was terrifying. Everything was spinning violently and I... -
ARCHIVED Ordering gluten-free Without Making A Stir At A Restuarant
georgiagirl posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I've been gluten-free for 2 weeks and am seeking a BIG improvement! Any advice on how to order gluten-free in a restaurant without making a big stir? I'm dreading a family birthday party next week as we are having a meal for 12 at a local restaurant. I cringe to think of everyone's reaction when I ask the wait staff for a gluten-free meal. Any suggestions... -

Go to Whole Foods or Super Target and look in the instant meals section for Tasty Bites. Some of them are labeled gluten free (not all are though). They are delicious! Comes with a pre-cooked rice package and a liquid pre-cooked indian vegetarian sauce package. All vacum sealed to keep it fresh. They come with a plastic dish and plastic spoon. All you... -
ARCHIVED Weakly Positive Blood Test - What Should I Do?
georgiagirl replied to georgiagirl's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Thanks Mtndog. How and where do I go to get a gene test? It sounds like that test is not impacted by whether you are eating gluten or have eliminated it. -
ARCHIVED Weakly Positive Blood Test - What Should I Do?
georgiagirl replied to georgiagirl's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Thanks Nancy. I've read that if you give up gluten, it would take months of eating it before getting an accurate test. I can't decide whether to keep eating and get tested (to give me the willpower to stick with the diet), or just eliminate it entirely right now. -
ARCHIVED Weakly Positive Blood Test - What Should I Do?
georgiagirl replied to georgiagirl's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Thanks Chrissy. The test results form says negative is 0-3, weakly positive is 4-10 and positive is greater than 10. I realize the biopsy for celiac is through an endoscopy, not a colonoscopy, but I though they would do both while I was under general anesthetic for the colonoscopy. -
ARCHIVED Weakly Positive Blood Test - What Should I Do?
georgiagirl posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hello everyone, I have had extreme bloating for years and have been unable to figure out the cause. In January, my gastroentonology gave me a blood test for celiacs. There were some serious miscommunications between the doctor and the nurse. The nurse called me and said the blood test tested "positive" for celiacs. I was devastated. She said...
