  1. Maybe a lot of you alread know, but I came across some great fresh breads, cakes and pies and cookies that are all gluten free at EarthFare Grocery Store. I felt like I had died and went to heaven when I stumbled on to them right before Christmas. They even had chocolate goodies as well! EarthFare is a small grocery store chain, I live here in SC, not...
  2. I just used the regular setting on mine and seems to work fine. I have also used just the mix and rise setting and then bake in regular oven in bread pan, but it will have to rise again once you place in regular bread pan. Some of the gluten free mixes are too large for some of the bread makers, unless you know how large it is. Mine spilled over once because...
  3. I have noticed that breads that are listed as being made with Spelt flour have been located in the store I shop next to the gluten free products. Are these considered to be wheat free or not. I have not heard anything about them. I would rather be safe than sorry. Regards, Jayne
  4. Does anyone know if Vodka is Gluten Free? I have had several heated arguments with bartendars about them. I say only the potatoe or grape Vodka's are gluten free. The web sites of most Vodka's list wheat and grains, which is what Celiac and Wheat sensitivity people are to stay away from. There is also a restaurant that list several Vodka's in their gluten...
  5. Hi Everyone: I have only been gluten free for about 6 months. I have been reading the labels on everything now, but I have noticed that the calorie content on the gluten free items is very high. I try not to eat too much of the prepacked items. I am wondering, those of you that have been gluten free for any length of time, have you had trouble maintaining...
  6. When I first started having my problems my husband doubted me as well. And even now sometimes my family will kid me about the wheat problem. It is un-nerving sometime. What I have tried to do and you probably will have to do the same, is to educate them. Everytime something in the news is mentioned about wheat/gluten or I spot articles that are written...
  7. I ate some Kraft Carmels the other day and I had a flare up with my stomach. Seems like I remember something about carmels may not be safe. Anyone know for sure? Regards, Meow
  8. Hi Jeggen: In answer to your questions about cheating on your diet. Once you have been on your diet for a couple of weeks and see how much healthier you feel, you won't want to cheat. I have to eat wheat the whole month of September in order to be tested in October. After only three days of what my family normally eats, I have been in so much pain...
  9. I was wondering the same thing. My hubby drinks beer and the other whiskys that has the grains. I am sure that it is possible. I told him the same thing about kissing me after he drinks. But he was alot more insensitive about it. But you have to do what you have to do, to stay healthy!
  10. Hi Everyone: I'm new here. I have been gluten free for 2 weeks tomorrow. I havn't been formally diagnosed with Celiac diease yet, but I already seem to be at least gluten sensitive. I was having trouble with restless leg syndrome along with a lot of other things, prior to my gluten free diet. My restless leg syndrome disapeared within two days of going...
  11. I thought I would mention that if you like Kilian's you should try that new Gluten Free Beer by Budwiser, it is called Red Bridge....taste alot like Kilian's.
  12. Even though I am not sure I have Celia Disease, I have been Gluten Free for almost a week now. I really miss pasta, and the fact that I may never be able to have another visit to Dunkin Donuts again. So I would definitely go for those. Also I was always a big friend of pastries as well. I have been truely amazed at all the items that contain wheat or...
