  1. Looks like a direct quote from Wikipedia which although offers a great deal of info. can be very confusing to a person who is not in the medical profession. As well as Wikipedia is created by the general population and the info is not always accurate. As someone who is in the medical profession, I stand by my original statement regarding labs..it is a known...
  2. Hi, The most common reason for a low Anion Gap is low albumin in the blood. There are many causes of this including malnutrition. which fits with Celiac. Elevated CO2 levels are seen in ex-smokers, current smokers....usually it means that your lungs arent working at full potential. The body rids itself of excess CO2...for some reason your moms lungs...
  3. One of the major problems with the blood tests and biopsies is that they are not 100% accurate. Especially in children! Most test negative until the damage is severe. Unfortunately the labs are known for not being very accurate either. My children were all tested traditionally-bloodwork/biopsy. My son was negative at 10 yrs old..much, much worse...

The gluten free breads and grains cause me stomach pain and esophageal spasms! I am fine as long as I eat an Atkins style diet...potatoes are okay but no other carbs. Does anyone else have this...
  7. Hi, I was diagnosed about 3 yrs. ago along with 3 of my children and my grandson...I have found that I can no longer eat the processed gluten free foods either...when I have gluten free bread, cookies, pizza crust etc. I get pain and distress in my stomach as though I was eating gluten. My mother, also celiac, has developed the same issue. She eats...
  8. Hi, My son was tested for Celiac at 10 yrs. old and I was told that he did not have it....at 17 he tested positive!! He is now 21 with a son of his own who showed Celiac symptoms and tested negative. My son has irreversible damage and my 2 yr. old grandson is gluten free...if it quacks like a duck and looks like a duck...take her off the gluten. You...
