About Me

I'm a mom to 2 beautiful little boys. They are 4 and 2. Newly diagnosed with Celiac Disease after assuming it was Fibromyalgia for 10 years.

  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. My hypoglycemia is managed by eating high protein breakfasts and then taking a chromium picolonate after. Ever since I've been doing that, I've been excellent!
  3. I'm Presbyterian and we only have communion a few times a year. We don't believe it's the actual body and blood of Christ (as Catholics do), so there isn't that big of a theological concern in my mind. But it did strike me today since it was the first Sunday since I've been gluten-free. All the sudden during the sermon, it struck me - What do I do?! ...
  4. What to do at church? Do you all take communion?
  5. I admit that I'm new to this all, but I already feel like I'm not getting much variety in my diet. Can anyone offer any tips?
  6. Thanks Mamaw! I went to Knoch High School! Where in Butler are you... I tried to PM but it must be set up that you have a certain number of posts before you can PM someone?

    ARCHIVED Chili's

I got the ribs which were AWESOME. At my restaraunt, they keep the one menu at the hostess stand at the front. So you can either ask the hostess or your server. I ask my server so they "get it." There were specific instructions on the menu, like ordering certain burgers without the bun, certain salad dressings that were ok, order certain salads without...
  8. Bellwood... I know. Yet ironically, I cannot find a support group near me!
  9. This is absolutely fascinating to me. I have had panic attacks for about 10 years. I've been gluten free now off and on for 1 year. I am staying gluten free this time and I will watch and see if the anxiety lessons! Fascinating!

    ARCHIVED Chili's

I went to Chilis with some friends for drinks and was shocked when I said I couldn't eat anything but the waiter said, "Oh yes, you can" and returned with a menu for food allergies! There were separate pages for egg allergies, celiac disease, fish allergies and nut allergies. Impressive!
  11. Hey all! I live in Altoona now but was born in Butler and am back in the area after 10 years in New Jersey, where I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. Now I know after going gluten free that it was really celiac! So... where do I start? Should I go to Allegheny General and get a doc? It'd be about an hour and a half drive, but it would be worth it. ...
  12. Do you know a doctor in Harrisburg? I am desperate!
  13. I come to Chambersburg quite a bit since we have a friend out there. Would love suggestions of restaraunts, etc
  14. I'm near Altoona. Anyone else?
  15. Anyone in State College or Altoona, PA?
