  3. The fact that you're going to an "integrative medical practice" suggests that you're not being sufficiently skeptical. The fact that you were given anything that is supposed to prevent a reaction to gluten if you have celiac disease suggests that you are being taken advantage of by an incompetent, though I'm sure nice and well-meaning, boob.

I'm not a fan of Outback's restaurants because of the company's politics, but sometimes you have to make exceptions so that you can enjoy a night out with your friends, or can eat safely in a strange city (as is often the case with me). As I can walk down the flour aisle without getting sick, I try to eat places that attempt to provide food that I can safely...
  5. I think people are missing an important point. Distilled vinegar isn't fit for consumption, so why worry about it? That being said, most vinegars, with the exceptions noted above, are gluten-free. The distillation process should remove the gluten from all vinegar regardless of source as it does from alcohol.
  6. Luckily (for very small values of lucky), I don't respond, at least with gastrointestinal distress, to small amounts of gluten (I can pick the croutons off the salad). However, I have been glutened by carelessness, both on my part, and the part of the kitchen. For example: An Indian restaurant (Nirvana) in Arcadia, CA glutened me with their "rice" pudding...
