  1. If I understand correctly, the blood tests are to identify anti-bodies related to the disease. How can one test be positive without meaning I have it?
  2. In September, my blood tests were conflicting. One was positive for celiac, the other (apparently the more accurate) was negative. I believe I had a 5 on that one. I've been gluten free for two months. The diarhea has gone away, for the most part, I'm no longer nauseous and I do look healthier. That being said, I have alot of acid reflux and severe abdominal...
  3. So I'm at month two with hip flexor strains. I was trying to run for short distances for the first month but when I limped off the treadmill 2 weeks ago, I decided to give up cardio for awhile. There are slight improvements but as soon as I do anything, it acts up again. Yesterday, I did a 10 minute walk followed by a 5 minute light and slow run and today...
  4. I've been gluten free for about a month and I feel sicker now than I did then. I have the same pains you have described. I also have a complete loss of appetite, which is not normal given that I'm a runner. These pains are worse in the morning and they are followed by nausea. I also get them throughout the day. Please let me know what you find out.
  5. Does anyone know if the PC Blue Menu yogurt from Loblaws is gluten free? I thought so but I felt sick this morning so I'm no longer sure...
  6. I've been gluten free for almost a month now (minus a few accidents). I can't say I'm feeling 100% better but I'm definitely dealing with less symptoms. This morning for breakfast, I had a banana before my run, a small portion of plain yogurt with abit of jam and a slice of homemade gluten-free applesauce bread (made with 60% less sugar and half the butter...
  7. From what I understand, you can't get a false positive with a blood test. Is that not right? So is it possible that my biopsy will show that I don't have celiac? I definitely have something so if it's not celiac, I'm worried about what it could be. Especially with this current symptom.
  8. I won't be seeing a gastro until December. Should I go back to my doctor?
  9. I've been noticing pale beige/white balls in my stool recently. I've just been diagnosed and have been gluten-free for two weeks (minus an accident a week ago). Is this normal? Is it a symptom of celiac? I haven't had the colonoscopy yet so I don't know what stage I'm at.
  10. Thanks so much, it makes alot more sense to me now.
  11. Thanks! I read most people feel better within 3 days which is why I worry that I'm not feeling any better. This may seem like a stupid question but from what I understand, when I eat gluten, it damages the villi. Does it completely destroy them? And when I'm glutened, what exactly happens?
  12. I had a positive blood test for celiac. I've been gluten-free for two weeks. I was glutened a week ago. Since being gluten-free, I haven't been symptom-free. I continue to deal with mucus in stool, nausea, dizziness. Is it possible I have something else? Should I worry about not being symptom-free? I've also been dealing with abdominal cramps these last four...
  13. I was glutened yesterday at a restaurant. I thought I was safe with salad minus the dressing but the bacon bits got me. I'm new at all of this and it's quite a learning curve. I'm still sick today. I'm dealing with nausea and stomach cramps. Is this from yesterday or could I have been glutened again? If I was glutened again, I can't think what from.
  14. I've been training for my second marathon since June and I was diagnosed with celiac 2 weeks ago. I've been gluten-free for a little over a week. Unfortunately, I've been dealing with alot of injuries (shin splints, piriformis syndrome). Now I have strained hip flexors and might not be able to run my race. On a scale of 1 to 10 in terms of the aggression...
  15. My blood test showed positive for celiac. For the last 6 days, I've been gluten-free. I am training for a marathon and averaging 60-70 km/week + yoga and weight training (total of 10 hours of training/week). For months now, I've noticed what looks like blood in my stools. This doesn't happen all the time but these last few days (while being gluten-free) this...
