ARCHIVED A Sorbitol Free Sublingual B-12
NoSugarShell replied to Greeneyes4950's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I found a b-12 spray at Sprouts this past weekend without any of that stuff in it. It is called pure advantage and it is of the methyl form. -
Sorry about that. It is 2000mcg. Anyway, I went to a health store this morning and found a brand called Pure Advantage. It says no dairy, egg, sugar, corn, yeast, wheat, soy or glutens. Then ingredients are purified water, vegatable glycerine, potassium sorbate. Each spray is 500mcg and I did two sprays. So far I feel pretty good. I am up...

I took 2000mg. Maybe that was too much. I am gun shy about taking this brand again though. I would sure love to find a more pure source.
-
Does anyone know of a b12 brand that is pure? I am searching right now with no luck.

Update, I feel like total crap today...just really depressed. I am really wondering if the sugar alcohols could be it. I tried to find pure B12 but couldn't. Does that article mean that legally they can say something is gluten free even though it's not? I am so sure I didn't eat anything wrong. I ate the same exact thing everyday for the last 4 days...

I went to The Vitamin Shoppe on my lunch break today and bought some B-12. I have read so much about it I wanted to give it a try. I took it around 1:00. It is the kind that dissolves under you tongue. Anyway, I felt a little weird after taking it. Now, I have been an absolute raging lunatic for about 2 hours. I mean really, really bad. I have never felt...

ARCHIVED Help! Son Has An Appt At 2:30 Today
NoSugarShell replied to NoSugarShell's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Thank you for the response. There is no way I am going to give my son a stool softener. I don't think he is constipated and I told her he goes back and forth between constipation and diarrhea. So, it's just out of the question. I stay away from prescription anything as much as possible. His diet is never typical. When he is with his Nana it is totally... -
ARCHIVED Help! Son Has An Appt At 2:30 Today
NoSugarShell replied to NoSugarShell's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Well, I just got back from the lab after my son's appt. It went pretty good, I think. His doctor basically believes he is constipated and that accounts for the stomach pain. She asked about the extremely dry skin which he has always had patches of it since he was a baby. Anyway, after she told me to buy some stool softener I told her that I felt I should... -
ARCHIVED Help! Son Has An Appt At 2:30 Today
NoSugarShell replied to NoSugarShell's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Thank you for the advice. I will go in there open-minded. What made me think of Celiac is my uncle is a confirmed Celiac and I believe there are others in my family although he is the only one that has been diagnosed. I am also gluten-free and benefit greatly by eating this way. If anyone else has advice please let me know. I do not understand all... -
ARCHIVED Help! Son Has An Appt At 2:30 Today
NoSugarShell posted a topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
How do I go about getting his primary care doctor to consider Celiac without her blowing me off? Is this even possible? The appt is because he is always complaining of stomach pains. Please, any suggestions would be greatly welcomed. -
Has anyone had a problem with eating the same foods everyday? I have figured out foods that I know do not bother me and I am afraid if I eat them everyday that I will develop an intolerance to that food. Has anyone had that experience? I can easily eat the same things everyday and not really get bored because I am a creature of habit. I have to force myself...

ARCHIVED 6 Year Old Son And Doctor
NoSugarShell posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I am in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and would like to take my 6 year old son to get allergy testing done. Does anyone have someone they can refer in this area? Do I take him to a pediactric allergist or is it another type of doctor that would do the testing for gluten intolerance? I am new to all this but Celiac runs in my family and I believe my son could... -
ARCHIVED Knox Gelatin
NoSugarShell replied to NoSugarShell's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I need something soy, dairy, gluten, sugar free if possible. I don't think pudding would work with that. -
I would like to come up with some kind of quick shake to make in the morning. Has anyone tried using Knox Gelatin? Will it thicken up like a shake if I use less or will it always harden like jello? I would love to come up with a shake using coffee, coconut milk, stevia, and gelatin. Does that sound like it would work and make a nice, thick, creamy shake...

ARCHIVED Non-dairy Coconut Milk
NoSugarShell replied to NoSugarShell's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I buy coconut milk from Market Street or my local health food store. It comes in a can and they have regular fat or lite. I love both but the lite is more runny which is perfect for coffee. I am going to try to make whipped cream with the full fat but I haven't done it yet. It does have a bit of a coconutty taste but I really like that. Hope this helps. -
Okay, I want some yogurt really bad but dairy makes me really break out. Well, I started thinking that I love coconut milk and use it in my coffee every morning. Well, low and behold there is a thread on here about making yogurt from coconut milk. 1) Has anyone tried this and if so what were your results. 2) Is an ice cream maker and a yogurt maker...
