  1. Interesting! I get that when I have fevers too, but my daughter always complains about clothes being uncofortable and every bump and stitch irritates her. I wonder...
  2. Seems like I am not the only one that struggles with this decision. I have been looking at past posts and talking to my family and I haven't seen anything that convinces me to put my daughter through the agony. My daughter from the age of six has dealt with severe anxiety, panic attacks, stomach aches, bouts of diahrea, constipation, fatty stool, heartburn...
  3. My daughter has been gluten free about a month now. The first week was rough I would say. The second week I would say I started noticing changes. The third week I think she got gluten somewhere and her symptoms were bad...but over all I do see a difference in her. She's 9 and has even made comments that she has noticed changes too.
  4. I'm so sorry, that must be so hard as a mom starting this at that age when kids are really testing their independence. My daughter is 9, and we just started gluten free. At the beginning she made comments about sneaking the foods she loves, but she's still young enough that I can control most of what she does. I'm surprised that your daughters throwing up...
  5. So we are going on almost 4 weeks gluten free. We have had up times and down times, and my daughter (9) is so much better then she has been. The past couple days have been rough for some reason. She has had gas, diarrhea, heartburn, stomach pain, her anxiety has been increased a bit and she has been extremely irritable. Theses are all things that were normal...
  6. My daughter (9) has been gluten free for less then a month. She is a bread lover, but won't touch any of the gluten free options. I even made a loaf from the Bette Hagman book, The Gluten Free Gourmet Bakes Bread. I thought it was delicious, but she wouldn't touch it. I think part of it was mental-the idea that it was not normal. I just decided at this point...
  7. She's been doing so great, but yesterday she started complaining about a stomach ache, diarrhea and had some pretty bad anxiety, she also had a hard time sleeping last night and generally controlling her emotions. It's hard to tells what is going on, if she's having a bad day and a bit of a bug, or is it gluten. We've been pretty good about watching what...
  8. I forgot to mention that they are chewable and raspberry flavored (sugar free).
  9. My daughters- 9 and 4 take Jarrow Formulas Yum-Yum Dophilus. It says it has no wheat, gluten, dairy/egg, fish/shellfish, peanuts/tree nuts and is vegetarian. I got mine at Whole Foods. Hope that helps.
  10. I posted before when we were one week gluten free. That first week was a little rough, my daughters (9 years old) anxiety was extremely high, her stomach was hurting and she was barely eating at all. This past week has been great. Her anxiety is not completely gone but she says it feels more manageable. She said her stomach feels better and has even said...
  11. Thank you for your reply. I made her a homemade gluten free bread-which is pretty tasty if I do say so myself. It's from Bette Hagaman's book, "The Gluten Free Gourmet Bakes Bread." I picked up a copy at the library. For some reason my daughter won't eat it. In fact for some reason, she is barely eating anything at all. Breakfast is a struggle, lunch...
  12. Hi, I am new to these forums (reading for a while, but first post) and new to gluten free. My daughter, 9, has had several issues for years-unexplained stomach pain, diarrhea, heartburn, eczema, dry cracking bleeding fingertips, but her most difficult issue has been severe anxiety and panic attacks. I mentioned celiac to her doctor about 2 years ago after...
