  1. Ok so i'm two weeks into a gluten challenge. I have always been constipated and that is now worse. I have a question about the mucous surrounding my dark constipated poop though. I know it's gross but I did collect my poop to inspect a couple of times and have noticed that the mucous surrounding my poop isnt slimy and soft but more like orange sticky...
  2. Hi I sometimes get these weird feelings like I have just put deep heat cream on my skin or it's wet and cold only in small patches usually on my upper forearm or lower neck most of the time but not always on right side what is it does anyone else get it. lasts sometimes seconds sometimes several minutes. I also experienced something else a couple of weeks...
  3. Yes I am struggling with that myself. I started losing weight when the gene decided to rear its ugly head. I was getting so sick but liked being thinner I am 5 ft tall exactly and before I got sick I was 57 kg not sure what that is in pounds but was borderline overweight for my height bmi 25 or there abouts.. When I went gluten free I was 13 kilos...
  4. Ok so here's the thing I have found that everywhere I read about celiac and the foods to avoid Wheat glucose syrup is considered safe. Products that I have come across have stated gluten free on front then I read the back and it says in the list of ingredients glucose syrup derived from wheat. Is it safe to eat these products. I have not been formally...
  5. Hi all I live in Australia. My child has gluten intolerance/celiac we don't know which and so do I. Over in this country we have great food labelling laws which mean companies have to state where their glucose syrup originates. Sadly I have to say that 95 percent of candy in this country has glucose syrup in it that is derived from wheat and I am assuming...
  6. I get like that too it feels like a small child is sitting on my chest sometimes when I eat gluten I had my heart checked and the doc just gave me an asthma puffer. I noticed it last time I had a cold too and I am sure I didn't eat gluten so I just put it down to the gluten problem gave me asthma. If anyone knows what it could be please let me know. Thanks
  7. Hi just wanted to know whether gluten can stop the contraceptive pill from being absorbed. I have had some breakthrough bleeding while taking the pill and have cheated on my diet. I am not sure wether I am gluten intollerant or celiac but im worried that if there are not enough hormones getting in I will get pregnant. Am I overreacting and has anyone...
  8. Ok so my daughter is gluten intollerant/ celiac no diagnosis but positive dietary response and we have celiac in the family. I started getting sick in January of this year and went gluten free in July I feel so much better now and yes like most people without a definate piece of paper to state it I have cheated on my diet to see what would happen. ...
  9. Thankyou David!!!!!! These spots (first picture) are exactly how my little bumps look when they pop or are nearing the end of their cycle. I'm glad to know what they are. I will say however that they are definately linked to gluten intake. I have tested time and time again everytime I have intestinal symptoms these reappear new ones . They were...
  10. Hi all yes, another question. if I can pick your brains. When I was on the gluten I used to get short of breath just talking and walking at the same time. Not enough to make me worried about my breathing too much but feels like Ive walked up two flights of stairs. I also get this weird feeling in my back between my shoulder blades like I need to...
  11. Hi guys, Ever since I have had gut reactions to gluten I have also had these little bumps come up on my hands. They do not generally itch only sometimes They start off as a little blister thats red but i'm not sure if it is because I play with them! They are usually 1mm in diameter and most are on my fingers. When I was on gluten they were...
  12. anyone out there gluten intollerant that has weight loss and mouth ulcers or is this just symptoms of celiac? Thanks
  13. Thanks for your replies, Well I got up last night and felt nauseous which usually is an indicator that I reacted to it. I also felt a little back pain not as much as when I eat a product "containing gluten" but it was there and still is now. I have my answer I suppose next time I will not take the statement 'gluten free' for granted.
  14. Hi I recently ate something that stated on the front that it was gluten free. When I read the back it had wheat based glucose syrup in the ingredients. Is this still gluten free and should I expect a reaction
  15. Like Green eyes I don't have the answers just experience. I have been gluten free for six weeks When I was eating gluten I was eating it every day and only getting symptoms every two weeks or so. Four weeks after going gluten free I slipped up and ate the equivelent of half a teaspoon of flour. I was sick for a week with the same symptoms as before...
  16. Ok so I have been on this diet for around four weeks. Before going on the diet I was eating a regular gluten diet toast in morning maybe some pasta a couple of beers etc...... I would only get bad symptoms in cycles of about every two weeks. In between I felt fine. So I decided to test how sensitive I actually was and ate half a sausage. Well four...
  17. Just a quick question. I know i'm either celiac or gluten intollerant as I have been on the diet 4 weeks and am yet to get sick again everything has gone apart from a bit of constipation. I know that you can still be celiac with negative blood and it runs in my family but.... can you have all celiac symptoms including mouth ulcers and weight loss and...
  18. Hi all just wondering how long after you go gluten free should you feel better if this is the problem? I started my diet on tuesday and it is now friday. Tuesday I didn't eat anything because I was sick with nausea and vomiting and the usual gastro symptoms that have kept coming back. I felt so sick that I decided to give the diet a try before going...
  19. Thankyou ravenwoodglass, I can say with all honesty that I am hoping that it is celiac or gluten intollerance as that is easy fixed. I do not like feeling sick, nausea and vomiting are not high on my list of fun things to do. I don't want to feel this bad again so if I can take control of that and make it go away I will be very happy. If it turns out that...
  20. From reading about others on this site. DH and celiac go hand in hand I have read that at least 80 percent of people with DH are celiac. You should get tested.
  21. Thanks for all of your replies! I have been having issues with my health for some time and now feel like I have gastro every two weeks that knocks me around. Blood tests for celiac were neg but I have started to get mouth ulcers now and celiac is in the family. I also have a daughter who is gluten free as she gets sick when she eats it. I have a stupid gi...
  22. Hi all, Just recently in the last six months since I have had gi symptoms I get these little blister type things on my hands. They start as what looks like little water filled blisters 1-2 mm in size. At any one time I have about a dozen which isn't much I know but they are wierd at the moment I am counting 10. Then they either turn into a hard callous...
  23. Thanks for all of your replies. To the lady that wrote this post. I have had the primary celiac panel done and it came back negative. I have family with celiac disease and I told him that. I gave him all of my symptoms and he was only concerned about my GI symptoms I suppose cos he is a GI. I was frustrated cos I had waited four months for an appointment...

  25. My doctor told me that weight always perceeds height. The body will store the weight fat and nutrients it needs first before it will use them to grow. This is for self preservation. Your child may need to put on a bit more weight to catch up before the growth starts
