  1. Hi, my husband and I are currently trying to conceive and I take a prescription prenatal vitamin called Natachew. It's a chewable wild berry flavored vitamin and I haven't had any problems with it. I search online and found that it is indeed gluten-free. Hope this helps.
  2. Hi all, I am faced with a situation that I'm sure many of you have faced before. I've been gluten-free faithfully for over a month now but am still having stomach issues (mainly D) and an itchy rash on my back. Could be DH or doctor thinks possibly Tinea Versicolor. So anyways, my doctor is sending me to a GI for the continued diarrhea and a dermatologist...
  3. Well, I had an appointment with my doctor today and discussed with her my seemingly negative lab results for Celiac disease. See this topic for more info: Open Original Shared Link Turns out my doctor didn't just order the antibody test, but also the gene test and for some reason they didn't send it to me. I tested positive for the HQ2 gene and will be...
  4. Thank you very much for the replies; I was afraid no was was going to. I'm just kind of at a loss right now for what to think about all of this and mainly I just want to feel better and not worse! I am planning to stick to the gluten-free diet because I have noticed a difference in the way I feel, but I guess I'll just have to give it some time in order...
  5. This may be a long post, but I'm very frustrated and need some advice so here goes. In February of this year, I went to my doctor for a yearly physical. I had had routine blood work done a week prior and all was normal with the exception of low sodium. She asked me if I took any diuretics-I do not and she asked me had I been having diarrhea-yes on a daily...
  6. I get my oats from gluten free.com, they are the Only Oats brand. I think their website is www.onlyoats.ca. They have breakfast blends that cook quickly in the microwave similar to Quaker. Hope this helps.
  7. I was going to ask the same question, so that's good to know! Thanks
  8. The other day I made banana pudding using Josef's gluten-free vanilla graham crackers that I ordered from gluten free.com. It turned out really good. Here's how I made it: Ingredients 2-3 ripe bananas sliced and sprinkled with lemon juice (to prevent browning) About 1/2 a pack of Josef's gluten-free vanilla graham crackers broken into pieces ...
  9. I'm sure most of you have tried this, but it's new to me having been newly diagnosed. I have found through trial and error that I like the taste of Pamela's baking mix the best as compared to Bob's Red Mill. Tonight I wanted some cornbread to go with our supper so I looked up Pamela's website and found a recipe there. I followed it to a T using House...
  10. Thanks guys, I think I'll just have to start making my own at home. Eating out is too risky if you have no idea what is in something. I feel better today though which is good :-)
  11. Thanks for the advice, I think I'll be sticking to Pamela's mix from now on.
  12. Since going gluten free after being diagnosed in February of this year, I have tried to be careful although I will admit to cheating a few times. Well I thought it would be safe to eat at our local Mexican restaurant and have rice, beans, and cheese enchiladas which are served on corn tortillas. I've eaten that same meal several times with no obvious symptoms...
  13. I'm sure you've all heard about this, but thought I would share just in case. This is a really simple recipe that my MIL told me about and I never made it until I went gluten-free. Ingredients: 1 cup of peanut butter 1 cup of sugar 1 egg Mix above ingredients together with a spoon (no mixer required), roll dough into small balls and flatten with...
  14. Recently I used Bob's Red Mill gluten-free flour/baking mix to make some banana nut muffins. They smelled good baking, but had a horrible chemical type of taste. Afterwards I had indigestion for the remainder of the day. Has anyone experienced this? I've also made pancakes with this and had the same thing happen. I have bought the Pamela's baking mix...
  15. Thanks guys! I'll definitely not be eating any more of those!
  16. I've been doing some research on gluten-free Easter candy, but I'm stumped on this one. I know that in general Reese's peanut butter cups are gluten free as well as the miniature cups, but what about the Easter egg shaped ones. I bought a bag today of the Easter egg shaped mini ones (in the yellow wrapper) and did not see anything listed that would indicate...

    ARCHIVED Help!

Hi all, I was diagnosed last month with Celiac disease. At the time I went to the doctor for a physical and she noticed a rash on my upper back (both sides). It was itchy some and seemed to get worse after bathing and then toweling off. I started a gluten-free diet and will admit that I cheated three days out of last week. However, as of last Saturday...
  19. Yes, it was tender and delicious!
  20. Hi all, last night I made some fried cube steak along with rice and gravy. All gluten-free! I made a mixture of Bob's Red Mill all purpose gluten-free flour, salt, pepper, and some seasoned salt. After dipping the cube steak in this mixture, I fried them up and they were delicious! I also made some gravy using the same flour, milk, salt, pepper, and a...
  21. Wow, congratulations!
  22. Thanks, that does help! I'm happy to say that I have eaten gluten-free all day and plan on sticking to it no matter how tempting things may be. After the way I felt yesterday and the day before, there is no excuse for me to eat gluten.
  23. Well, as much as I hate to admit it, I cheated! I even brought my own snacks!!! I just couldn't help myself! Then today, I made my husband a frozen pizza and he said that he wasn't going to eat all of it. It was lunch time, I was hungry, and well one thing led to another and you get the picture Honestly though, I think I am done with gluten no matter...
  24. Hi, I was just diagnosed with Celiac disease last month. My doctor did a blood test, including the gene test. The results came back positive for Celiac disease and I was told to begin eating gluten free. I had a rash on my back that I can only assume was DH and after about a week of eating gluten-free, it has cleared up significantly. My stomach issues...
