  1. I have the same problem too. Corn is so much more difficult to eliminate than gluten is. If I get a big dose of corn I will get the same effects as with the gluten but I can tell the difference. I have trouble getting to sleep at nite, get restless legs syndrome, severe cramps in my feet, internal shaking (sounds ridiculous but that is what it feels like...
  2. Hello all Is there anyone from Hamilton New Zealand in the forum? I am a Celiac but also have a corn intolerance. I am having trouble sourcing my flours as they are always contaminated by corn. I was buying from the Frankton organics shop but they package all the rice flour themselves but with corn being gluten free they are not worried about corn contamination...
  3. I have been gluten free for over 7 months..or so I thought!! i could not figure out what was getting me and was told to give up dairy at first and then soy and then rice... what next! It was very hard to tell what it was as i was only getting tiny amounts that would build up over 2 or 3 days and when I ate something else the pains would start, making me...
  4. It's maddening really..bin inn has "gluten free" labelling on their flours but I don't think it is. You are right though, they do have glutened flours above the gluten free ones and lids are always left open and who knows if they use the same scoop to refill all of those bins. Everyone recommends them but I won't be. It is so very hard to find the flours...
  5. I only ate the icecream and chocolate to prove that's what was doing it. I have cut out the dairy now and will stick to my diet for a while then try cutting out the soy. Most of the chocolate over here is on the safe list and gluten free so I wasn't worried about the gluten just the milk. Surely if we get our diets under control there should be no more...
  6. Thankyou for your comments! I did ring the company and it is safe. LOL at Takala. The dietician.. being a health conscious person of course..told me to eat lots of fruit because it contains more calories than veges, so that's a good excuse for eating lots of fruity puddings LOL
  7. Hi Neroli..thankyou for that! I can't find half the flours I've heard of in the binn inn and I don't exactly trust them either. Who knows where those scoops have been!!! LOL I have cut out the soy for now but had chocolate and icecream for the last two days and still got the bloating. I generally stay away from milk but now and then go nuts on choccy...
  8. Hi all I have been on the gluten-free diet for about 6 weeks after many years of suffering with stomach pains and D and.. after reading this forum.. many other problems including depression. Celiacs showed up in a blood test about 2 years ago but my doctor says it's nothing to worry about. She has been been referring me to the hospital for about 9...
  9. Hi all..I am finding maltodextrin in a lot of foods and confused about whether it's safe or not. Some labels are clear and state that the maltodextrin is maize derived but others don't. My dietitian gave me some sachets of dietary supplement because I'm still losing weight. I was a good girl and read the label because I trust no one anymore. The supplement...
