  1. Hey, it's Roxie. I felt sad when I read the message you posted. You just can't seem to get a break. I have also had a bad couple of days, and my husband came home tonight to find me crying in my detox bath. I don't care what anyone says - this diet we have to follow SUCKS!! However, we are going to have to find happiness through all of this - somehow...
  2. Do I have to do injections, or could I just simply take it in pill form? I also saw an add for B12 patches that would only have to be applied once a week.
  3. Hey! I have been reading a lot about Celiac Disease and vitamin B12. Do we need to take this if we are already eating healthy and taking a multi-vitamin everyday? What about calcium? Or, is this just for people who are still having specific problems? I have chronic back pain and thought it might go away after going gluten free. It has not so far. ...
  4. I was so sorry to hear that you are feeling so terrible! Maybe the symptoms will go away now that you are home and eating all of the foods that you definitely know are safe. Hang in there. Roxie
  5. Hey! I was just wondering about alcoholic drinks. How do we know if they are gluten free? I would assume that most of them are. Right??? I can't imagine not having my weekend martini. Does anyone know? Thanks!! Oh, and what about prescription medicines??

    ARCHIVED Caesar's Palace

Hey, I just noticed your post about going to Las Vegas!! Have you been before?? My husband and I went last year and had the time of our lives. We stayed at the Bellagio, but Caesars Palace was so absolutely fabulous!! I actually got a little bit crazy, and got my first tatoo while we were there. Anyway, we are THINKING about maybe trying to go back...
  7. Hey! I have a few questions. I have celiac disease and I am lactose intolerant. I have heard that some people can add dairy back in their diet after getting healthy. I have been on a gluten free diet (as best I can) for about a month and a half. When can I try to add dairy back in safely, or should I just try to stay away from it all together? Also...

    ARCHIVED Moe's

Hey! I just wanted to say that I think managers of restaurants should be informed about food allergies. I went to Moe's last night to celebrate my son's 10th Birthday. I looked up their allergy information on their website, and I was a little bit confused, but it seems as if there are not many gluten free foods there. Anyway, I asked the manager to see...

    ARCHIVED Weight Gain

Glutina, Thanks for writing me about eating disorders. I can't really say that I am recovered from my ED. It started when I was a senior in highschool, and went on for several years. When I got pregnant, I completely stopped the behavior. I had 3 kids all together, and never had a problem during those years. Over this past summer, I had a little...

    ARCHIVED Moe's

Hey! I have a question about Moe's (the mexican place). Welcome to Moe's!! Anyway, my son wants to go there to celebrate his Birthday tonight, and I am wondering what I can eat?? I have heard that the chicken is the only gluten free food. Does anyone know for sure?? I got my own gluten free corn chips to take with me. Thanks. Roxie

    ARCHIVED Weight Gain

hightop girl, I responded to your message, but I'm not sure if I did it right. It would be great to keep in touch with you! Let me know if you got the response I sent you. I live in Jacksonville, FL. Roxie
  13. I got interested when I read what you said about the detox bath. I looked it up on the internet and found the recipe. I'm going to try it. What were the main benefits that you got from it?? Did it make you feel better, and Less Bloated?? Thanks! Roxie
  14. Hey, It's me Roxie. You responded to my concern of gaining weight. Your kind and supportive words were extremely appreciated. It sounds like we have some things in common. I can totally relate to what you are saying. I would be so happy if I could get rid of the bloating. I'm trying so hard to be gluten free, but it's so crazy, because now I'm reading...
  15. Gosh, I feel like such a cry baby, but I just can't seem to find that happy place. I was sick for a year, and finally found out I have celiac disease. I ended up losing a lot of weight before I got the diagnosis. I was about 95 pounds. However, because I have had a lot of issues with eating disorders, I was thrilled to be that thin. Now, I am feeling...
  16. I'm wondering if it is normal to gain weight when you become gluten free. Before I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, I lost a lot of weight. I was sad about all the symptoms I was having, but I was happy about the weight loss. Now I am eating gluten free, and I am gaining all the weight back. I don't understand this because my gluten free diet is extremely...
  17. I had to send this message to you because I feel exactly the same. I feel very isolated, and I feel really uncomfortable at events where I can't eat any of the food. I don't want to explain my celiac disease to 10 people, and I get worried that they will all think I'm crazy. However, I joined this group, and I immediately got a lot of support and encouragement...

    ARCHIVED Thank You

Hey to ALL who wrote me back. I have not totally learned how to use this site yet, and I couldn't figure out how to reply back to individual messages. I just wanted to say that I REALLY APPRECIATE all of the positive support I got. It made me feel so much better about my diagnosis. I still think it's going to be hard - but I have a much more positive...

    ARCHIVED Sad

Hey! I am a newbie to this group. I am sad! I just recently found out that I have celiac disease, and I am also lactose intolerant. To make things worse, I also have chronic back pain. My husband and my kids already have to help me so much because of my back, but now they also have to deal with all of my food issues. I feel like I am driving my husband...
