My son is 3 and will be tested for celiac disease next week, and they are doing his 4-year-old bloodwork at the same time (CBC, etc) which he has to fast for, and I was assured the fasting wouldn't affect his antibody test. Hope that helps!

The only reason I would want a concrete diagnosis is because I think I've read there is higher risk of other issues (can't remember what at the moment) for those who have celiac disease, and I would want everything monitored.
