  1. Lol, no I am thinking I am getting what your saying. And ya, I am sure that 2 weeks is by far not long enough to heal. I am just so darn impatient So....smirnoff is bad then? Lol, I thought it was good cause it is made fomr corn?? They emailed me and said this: March 31, 2008 Dear Consumer, Thank you for taking time to contact Smirnoff...
  2. Ya...*smack my hand *.....I should have known better for sure. Next time it is boxed ONLY!!
  3. Thanks Ivanna44!! I am very curious about this as well and whatever I will find out I will let you know. The doctors here....well my main thing is my general doctor can only go so far when it comes to testing. And then the specialist, well it has been already two months and i have another two months or so before I get to even SEE him. And then if he...
  4. Hrrrrmmmm.thanks njbeachbum for that. I guess I maybe just had a bit too much of it :-) Thanks
  5. Thanks all for your replies. The quinoa I used was from bulk from a natural foods store. Could have been cc'd though....my bad I have never heard of the muscle testing you mentioned Redsd. I will have to check that out. Really, all in all I probably should just not have drank the vodka. With everythign my intestines / stomach has been through lately...
  6. I have been gluten free for only about two weeks now. I was REALLY sick before this with constant D and stomach pains - all the rigamorole. I self-diagnosed this as the doctors around here are useless :-) For the first week I was doing " okay ", though something was still wrong. I figured I must have another food somewhere that is bothering me, so for...
  7. Lol, thanks for the reply. Glad that was not a silly question. Basically I am sick o fthe doctors here and the time wait and the way they just want to sluff stuff off and tell you to " deal with it ". So, i decided to do some fixin on my own. So far the gluten free diet has been fabulous for the most part, though I do think that I have some other triggers...
  8. Okay......say you have been having stomach problems and no one can give you answers so you yourself decide to go on a gluten free diet wihtout ever having a doctor say you need to be gluten free. After a few months now, you are feeling better and have decided that maybe it was nto gluten / wheat that was bothering you and maybe something else that has...
  9. Lol, thanks. Yes, I had heard that going gluten free may not be the best idea before going in to see the specilaist, but I just could not wait anymore in that pain / torture. Honestly, I have only been gluten free for about two weeks now I think it is, not long, so yes, that is probably why I am still getting symptoms. But thanks for the advice. And...
  10. Lol, thank you and yes, I am finding that already. These posts are all so very halpful, but I have to say after becoming obsessed with my health problems and reading these sometimes for 6 hours a day ( ya, no kidding, I am sure my work LOVES me right now ) my mind is just SWIMMING and I am not even sure which was is up anymore. My concern is just that...
  11. Well, I just have to chim in on here too. Not only am I new to this but am Canadian too. Kelowna, B.C. Canada BABY! And yes, all of this is VERY overwhelming and personally, the doctors here I find are VERY mis-informed ( or lazy?? )..... But, welcome all and it is nice to see Canadians on here. This site is terrific and everyone has been SO nice,...
  12. Oh........and should I take a probiotic? What is the deal with these? I used to be able to handle s amll sihlohette yogurt and be fine before I got sick. After I got sick I thought all these yogurts with probiotics woudl help, so I started taking activia and that only made my D symptoms worse. Any thoughts on these?
  13. Thanks for the replies. I guess I am just gonna have to stop being so lazy and try figuring out new things and making sure to rotate what I am eating. Better safe then sorry. Lol, I do LIKE a lot of different things, it is just hard ot get motivated to make sure I have them on hand and that I am sufficiently rotating between them. Thanks :-)
  14. Hello all. This may be a silly question, but the more and more research I do, the more and more confused I get.... So........so far with me, remaining gluten free does not seem to be TOO difficult for me. I am just eating my chicken I love, salmon, plums, apples, pears, gluten free rice bread, rice, rice crackers, risotto, tuna, rice tortilla's, etc...
  15. WOW, thanks that is a lot of informtion!! I will have to try some of those for sure. But, one thing however, since I am more prone to D will any of these make that worse, or aggrivate it, or will I be fine?
  16. Not sure if this is where I should post this but something strange happened to me tonight. I have been on the gluten free diet for about a week now. I have also been lactose intolerant and stayed away from milk products for about 10 years. Even though lactose intolerant I have found that I can eat small amounts from time to time and be fine. For the...
  17. Your right, that is VERY odd that that soup contains milk! Lol, how weird. Thank you though for that bit of information. I have now contacted Campbells and they are mailing me a list of their gluten free product! I will type out and put on this site when I receive it. Thanks :-)
  18. Thanks everyone for all your help. I am thinking I may just try to go for the Kraft BBQ sauce and see how that goes. Lol, I SHOULD makemy own yes, and I probably would. Only thingI am finding is here in Kelowna, even in the health food stores, I cannot for the life of me find a gluten free soy sauce that seems to be needed in BBQ sauce receipies. ...
  19. Thanks Jenny. I wish I could find Sweet Baby Ray's....everyone here seems to love it. As for Kraft and the vinager thing....am I then to assume that if they have " vinager " in their label, that it is distilled? Most of their labels just say " vinager " or " white vinager ".... I have never had a probel with vinager that I know of, it is is just that...
  20. Hey there. I am new to all this, but one thing that I LOVE to have is just plain chicken breasts, bakes in the oven with TONNES of Barbecue sauce on them. I am finding it REALLY hard to find any that I KNOW are gluten free here in Kelowna, BC Canada. All of them have either stuff I know is harmful, or they just say " vinager " or " white vinager " and...
  21. Hello there...read this post and I am very interested....where would you find the Quinoa gluten free pasta? What brand is it....woudl ti be available in Canada? Sounds interesting and I would love to try it
  22. Lol, wow thanks Kathy. Such a big relief. oddly enough, to know that that reaction was most likely from being glutened and not that there is potentially something more wrong with me!! I will definately be throwing that box out and leanring my lession ( tho I REALLy did like the taste of those ). Lol, I will have to rememeber that Mother Goose quote! Thanks...
  23. Thanks Kathy and yes, they are the blue diamond brand. The box even says produced in the same facility...etc.etc. Silly me...so much for paying attention. This one is the kicker....the rice cereal that I got I am pretty sure is what killed me. The box said wheat free, so I assumed it wasokay. Nope, what a dummy I was - the second ingredient in it...
  24. Thanks GlutenGalAZ!! The brand of BBQ sauce I have is Presidents Choice, a generic brand sold at Superstore Canada. Thanks for the info and tomorrow when shopping I will have to take a look and see if I can try a better one. Or better yet, contact this one and ask. Lol, and your right, it does get easier to ask the more times you do it :-) Yes, I...
