  1. Hi zeta_lilly, Hang in there! When I was first diagnosed my body had been so weakened that I reacted to red meat, corn, soy, sausage, or any heavy fats or meats. I couldn't even handle gluten-free vitamins! It took about a year but I was finally able to reintroduce those foods into my diet. (I never did get allergy tests--it was all trial and error.) Your...
  2. Hi Sweetfudge, I am here visiting Destin right now! There's PF Chang's and Bonefish, which are chains, I know. I'm about to try Fleming's tonight (also a chain, but more upscale). All three have gluten-free menus. I have heard good things about Another Broken Egg (breakfast & lunch) and have had a great experience at the Marina Cafe, where the chef...

I didn't eat it, so I can't say for sure one way or the other, but cross-contamination might be a possibility.
  6. Thanks everyone! I feel so wonderful right now that I can't even imagine having to go through that. I think I'll take your advice about telling my doctor and maybe save a few people after me from the 'metamucil' prescription. ugh. I will check out Enterolab too, so I can blame the parents later!
  7. I've never put much faith in doctors, but after increasing GI distress over about a year and a half, I went to my doctor and complained that I thought I had a 'wheat allergy' (I didn't understand the difference at that point). She didn't do any testing, and instead gave me the 'eat more fiber' diagnosis along with the weird 'you get backed up and then it...
