My 5yr old has celiac - he has been on a strictly gluten-free diet for 2 years. He rarely ever gets sick - and if he does, he heals very quickly. (His non-celiac sister catches plenty more viral infections than he does...) In my opinion, his immune system is much more effective at fighting the viruses and bacteria now that it is not attacking gliadin all...
