  1. I would have the blood test done. It's not 100%. But even for little kids it is very helpful. Having said that, my son's blood test were not conclusive for celiac. His total IgA's were borderline low. But his biopsy was positive. He had dirrhea for months and fell off his growth curve. It's standard of care to have immediate family tested for celiac...
  2. What did the blood work show?
  3. My son, Jude, is almost 3 years old and was dx with celiac at 13 months old by biopsy. Jude had a stomach bug and had diarrhea (and a fever) for a few days. After the diarrhea resolved he continued to have pretty intense stomach pain for more than two weeks. Week three, his pain greatly decreased, but he still complains of pain at meal time and after...
  4. My son was dx at 13 months old. He was at 0% on his growth curve. Six months after he was dx he was still on the same curve, slightly above 0%. He is now almost 3 years old. His weight gain has picked up slightly. He's now weighs 28 pounds. I'm not sure where that will be on his growth curve. His check up is next month. He never had a growth spurt...
  5. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  6. My son had a 0 TTG-IgA but his total IgAs were borderline low. His biopsy was positive for celiac at 13 months old. I aggree with the previous post. Sometimes just trying a gluten-free diet is the only way to know.
  7. Thanks for the suggestions. I did read some old threads as well. I think providing playdough and clay for the whole class is a great ideal. I sent him some gluten free playdough that I made but it smells bad after about a week and even got moldy. I might try ordering some online. Maybe they can make playdough on days he isn't there. I'm going to...
  8. My son, Jude, is 21 months old. He was dx with celiac at 13 months old. Prior to dx he had diarrhea for six months and poor weight gain. Jude is in day care 2 days a week. His teachers are very aware of his diet. He eats at a separate table with one other toddler. I send all his food and drink. There is a picture of him on the wall that says no...
  9. My little celiac boy is 20 months old. His weight is also at the 3rd percentile. Probiotics have really helped his digestion. When I started probiotics his stool finally smelled and looked normal. I think it really helped his absorption. I started at 1billion/day and worked up to 3 billion/day. Adding olive oil to foods also gives some good fat for...
  10. My son was diagnosed with celiac at 14 months old. He is now 19 months so he's been gluten-free for about 5 months. Yesterday he had diarrhea and vomited 4 times. Today he has diarrhea and has not eaten. Because he is so young he can't tell me how he feels. I don't know if this is from gluten contamination or a stomach bug. These are my questions...
  11. It takes time to figure these things out and it's so hard when we want the answers yesterday. You'll get there. I am a mom of an 18 month old. He was diagnosed with celiac at 13 months old. His diarrhea started at 7 months old. He had severe diarrhea 5-10 times a day. He dropped off his growth curve, failure to thrive. After lots of test and worry...
  12. We decided to do the biopsy and it was positive for celiac! We have been gluten free for two weeks. My son's appetite has improved soooo much. His poop looks better, still soft, and he only pooped once yesterday. I'm greatful to have an answer.
  13. Thank you all so much for your helpful info. You made me feel supported and not alone in this big decision. You helped me get a good list of questions together for our GI Dr. This week we met with him and he answered all our questions. We have decided to do the biopsy and to do a gluten free trial for two months regardless of the results. The big...
