  1. Hi All, I haven't posted in a while now, and have been struggling a bit over the past 6 months. Along the gluten-free journey, I am still yo yoing with my weight and confidence. Although my career has been soaring, I can't seem to get hold of the weight issues that are holding me back. I find myself alone alot from not feeling confident enough to be all...
  2. i googled it.. seems a little to good to be true.. what does it consist of?

  4. Hey all! Just curious if anyone suggests a good drink to order when going out. I've been sticking to wine or tequila shots... scared to try something new. I was thinking maybe margaritas and mojitos are safe? what about martinis etc? Thanks!
  5. hmm.. i will look into getting a magnesium supplement--have you felt a big difference? Also, you're right, the B12 is cyanocobalamin, and there's only 50mcg of that, and 17mg of the B6 (pyridoxine HCL). Which brands/formulas of vitamins have you liked for magnesium and the b complex? Also, are armaranth or teff cereals usually sold in health food stores ...
  6. Wow! Just went out and bought melatonin after reading your post. I took it last night, and it was the first night I didn't wake up all night! Slept for 6 hours straight! Woke up feeling very refreshed and excited I've been trying to figure out how to make myself sleep for ages, tried tylenol pm during college but it didn't quite give me a good nights sleep...
  7. Usually get preoccupied with something in the evening But I do notice, the weeks when I don't workout, I don't feel as hungry at night and also feel 'smaller' in general. Seems that when I work out in the morning, I don't feel hungry all day, until eveningtime. But if I don't workout at all, my meals are more regular. For example today was better:...
  8. Did a quick google search on psyllium.. sounds like an interesting thing to consider. Curious--does the fiber make you feel uncomfortable or bloated (or make you 'go')?
  9. Thank you! Just picked up a new multi-vitamin today (Natrol brand). It's called "My Favorite Multiple", and includes all of those things, and is gluten free. The vitamin also has 10mg of magnesium--is this enough? I definitely see how being deficient could affect a lot of things.. particularly low energy, thinning hair/loss of hair, and not being able...
  10. Thanks for the suggestions! Problem is, I'm not a big fan of meat, especially red meats. No particular reason, just didn't grow up eating much of it and never acquired a taste for it. I do eat seafood and chicken sometimes though I really should add more fats and proteins, but was trying to think of ways how. I've never heard of coconut oil-- where would...
  11. Hey all! So I've been eating gluten free (with the occasional accidents) for almost 2 months now, and find that I keep having the same problems with being terribly hungry at night no matter how much I eat during the day. I find that I'm eating much more, but still can't get full. Problem is, I don't have much of an appetite during the day, only at night....
  12. I've been curious of the relationship between celiac and eating disorders also. I had anorexia in my younger teen years, then began to have bouts of binging and purging towards the end of high school. I wondered if the binging was triggered by my increased consumption of gluten as I got older and ate out with friends more, as my family has unintentionally...
  13. Hi everyone! I just signed up to this forum after having read a bunch of your posts over the past few weeks. I am so happy that such a board exists, and reading everyone's thoughts has helped me cope tremendously after finding out about my celiacs only about 2 months ago. I thought I'd share my story, and would also love to hear everyone else's if you'd be...
