  1. Hi! I see I am not the only one with neurological issues. I am turning 30 and I have had these vertigo attacks since I was 20, thinking it was low blood pressure or something, because they were not too violent. Now I have been having headaches and migraines for the last 5 or 6 years also.

I just got an MRI/A done and it came up clear, but the EEG that I had last week was not. I still don't have the results but I experienced what I think it might be a seizure, but the Technician did not want to tell me and the Dr. wasn't there, he still has to review the record of the EEG. I had a 3 week headache and when it did not hurt as much, I would feel "whoozy", lethargic, I still do. I almost fainted last week, but my appt. is not until the 12th. of May and the Dr. is not in the state until then, so I am very anxious. I had twitches and I started getting them at night, before I fall asleep or when I wake up at night to get some water or something. It's freaky.

If anybody has anything like this please let me know, so we can "compare notes" or give each other support. I know I need it.

    Thanks!

  2. I tried (a few months ago and now again) to change the personal picture that appears by my name on the screen (I do not have one uploaded). I went to My Controls, Edit Personal Photo (or something like that), Browse, found the picture I liked but it always says that the picture is too big, something about bytes and pixels (advanced chinese to me), and I do not know how to fix that. Any ideas?

  3. :unsure:I have been lucky and I just got engaged! I am so happy! But I am also overwhelmed by the amount of things that we will need to do in a relatively short period and among those things are finding my gluten-free wedding cake. I live close to Philadelphia, Bucks County, PA. There was a bakery (Ritts Bakery) in Philly but they closed now. Does anybody know about any bakery who would do gluten-free wedding cakes and that also deliver? (Ritts did not deliver, anyway, and I have no idea how we would transport it to the ceremony site) Please help![/ color]
  4. Ursa Mayor,

I just read your posting, I can't believe you have so many things to cope with!

Congratulations on your attitude, getting all the information and doing what it's at your hand to help it.

I just feel so lucky, I was diagnosed at 1 year old, and thank God except for some bad "vertigo" attacks and mini seizures and some dental problems, I am all right. However, you have so many tests done, and I went to a general practitioner a couple years ago (I have a stomach ulcer) but I don't think I've had such thorough test done in a long time.

Now my sisters and brother (32, 26 and 17 years old) have just now been diagnosed with Celiac Disease also. After reading your posting, it made me think that we should really keep a closer eye on what's really going on inside, since we may not have symptoms if we ingest something with gluten. I never had stomachaches or immediate symptoms, so I always hoped I had been diagnosed with the wrong disease. But after some bad neurological episodes that I had throughout the years that were intensified in my early 20's, I realized that the consecuences may be much worse than abdominal pain.

I wish you the best. Stay with that positive attitude to improve your health and keep doing all you can to make it better. Best of luck!!! :)

  5. Has anybody heard of a rash that looks like little blisters deep in the skin that itch only occasionally?

I have had this in my right hand since I was about 8 or 9 years old, from the middle of my wrist lined up to the end of my middle finger, another "line" on the out side of my hand, and another line or branch towards my thumb. This has expanded throughout the years and only once a year I would say that it is very itchy. It looks like deep blisters that pop out ot the skin, but they never actually bursted or anything like that. I have pinched them, no liquid in them. I have cut them with nailclippers, but they grow back.

Now it's spreading not in line any more but randombly in my right hand and since two years ago, two or three blisters on my left hand. It just spreads but generally does not itch.

I have no idea what it can be, since I never showed it to any doctor, and no cream (antifungal or antibiotics that I tried topically) has worked.

It may not be related to Celiac Disease, but there are so many disorders that can be linked, may be one of you has this also and did not think it was important. I just would like to know what it is.

Thank you everybody for writing, it is so comforting finding that other people have the same or similar problems and things going on related to Celiacs, it makes me feel that I am not alone in this. :)

Do anyones experience headaches even with being gluten free? I also gave up dairy and know I haven't been glutened.

    Hi Texas!

Three years ago I was eating gluten without knowing it and I had vertigo attacks, migraines and general weakness. The neurologist said that I had some "Partial Convulsive Syndrome", nothing conclusive, and did not care about the fact that I am Celiac.

On my own I checked everything I ate and found gluten in Dannon Yogurt, which I had almost every day. Now, three years later, I do not have all of those balance problems but I still get bad headaches about twice a month. Only migraine pain relievers help, but sometimes they can only lessen the pain. They are pretty bad. I eat dairy, soy, anything else, I do not think those affect me, but I could not find a link between a certain food and my headaches. And I know I am gluten-free, but I the headaches always come back.

Have you noticed anything that you may eat before having an episode? They say that cheese and chocolate may trigger them, although I do not think that I have eaten them before my episodes. May be you have some kind of migraine. Why did you give up dairy?

    Good luck!

I need some help relating celiac and my endless teeth issues.

I just got my teeth cleaned and the hygenist told me that my enamel looks like I am bulimic. I am not, nor have I ever been bulimic. In fact, I haven't even thrown up that much in my life in general.

I brush my teeth like crazy, I floss, I rinse with "ACT" fluoride every night, and my teeth are just terrible. I'm sick of explaining myself to dentists, this is the third dentist's office that I've been to in the last year.

I want to get on top of this and instead of being humiliated, actually get a grip on what is going on with my teeth so I can take care of them. Can you help me? Has anyone had similar issues? Are there any studies available?

    UGH.

    Thanks all!

Hi Sansglutengrl. I am 29 and I was diagnosed when I was 3 years old. All through my childhood and adolescence I cheated on the diet. Since I was 25 I stopped. I realized I had a weak teech enamel as a teenager. I have developed little dents on my front teeth and my canines, which would keep getting deeper as I ate gluten. They look like little "holes", it's horrible. Now that I am gluten-free, the enamel has not "filled" itself but it has not getting any worse. I have been confirmed that they are not cavities at all, but my calcium levels and my teeth enamel were so low that affected my teeth.

Is it possible that you are eating something that has gluten, without you knowing it? You may not get any other symptom (I did not have any other symptom when I used to eat gluten). Check everything you eat, make sure you are not eating any gluten. It may take a little while, but you may get better. Best of luck!!
