  1. Do you still have attacks now that you are off gluten? I am hoping my body is going through a detox and it will soon stop. But I do think I should go see my GP since he suggested that I try going off gluten. I am also thinking of cutting out caffeine(I love coffee) as well since it increases your blood sugars, it just may be another thing throwing me off...
  2. I have had my blood sugars checked many times but only while eating gluten. I should go an do a finger prick, to see if it is low. I am pretty sure I am eating enough protein and fats, I make sure I have protein with every meal and I never was one to go on that no fat/low fat type of eating. I eat a lot of fruits and veggies as well.
  3. Hi! I was wondering if anyone has had any blood sugar issues when they cut out gluten. Long story short. I have stomach issues with no diagnosis. My GP suggest I cut out gluten to see how I feel. I am 3 weeks in and aside from feeling great with no cravings no bloating, no stomach pains I am fighting constant mild headaches. When I eat they go away...
  4. as a parent I could see how a sick child would have a hard time with school. I would first attribute all of his issues with Celiacs and go from there. If after 6-12 months of being gluten free he is still having problems then I would look into further options.
  5. I think you are doing the right thing. We don't know for sure if our daughter has Celiacs but an allergy test has shown positiove for gluten. I am thinking it is so much easier for everyone in the family to eat the same. But we wont keep our son away from gluten 100%, his exposure will be very limited.
  6. Thank you for all the suggestions! But Lunch meat isn't gluten free??? ahh! I am a label reader but I really have to study all those hidden glutens I guess. Well, I think we had a good first day of absolutly no gluten, I "think". I have no idea if it was 100%, but my intentions are there and we never fed her anything with obvous gluten. How...
  7. She likes to eat macaroni and cheese. I have tried to buy cheese powder but it never works out for me to be the same as boxed stuff. She likes Chicken nuggets, they all have breading of some sort. She likes to eat breaded fish, not batter, but breading. She likes the fun pasta shapes like Dora and Princes shapes in soups.
  8. I am going to do some shopping today and tomorrow for my daughter but I am finding it hard to come up with ideas to subsitiute her favorite things. She is a very picky eater to being with so finding things she likes is already hard. Can anyone give me some good lunch suggestions. I think I am okay with Breakfast and Dinner, but lunch is always a hard...
  9. I second the probiotic. My daughter had really poor digestion as well, but ever since we had her on a really good probiotic she is doing much better. She rarley ever has undigested food in her BM, and she use to always have it. We give her HMF. it is an adult dosage, but we only give her 1 cap a day. It was suggested to us by her Natrualpath and the...
  10. thank you. I make Quinoa but she wont touch it. I am going to try and make it with other flavours and maybe mix it into things. But I will buy cream of rice as well and see how she likes it. is gluten free oatmal labeld that way? There is a gluten free store in my City, I should probably call them to see what they have for oatmeal. Thank you for...
  11. Thank you for being online! She LOVES oatmeal, its her favorite food. So should I just take out wheat, barley, and rye and see how she does. if she isn't okay in a few months then take out oats too?
  12. So do you think that she is allergive to wheat as well but the test just couldn't detect it? We have to wait till march to see the other specialist, it will be a long few months.
  13. Hi Here is a good link on symptoms Open Original Shared Link You can also do a google search for symptons of babies with celiacs. Your son might have a few symptoms or all of them. a blood test might come back negative. A Biposy is the best and true way for a correct diagnosis.
  14. I have a question about my daughter. I have posted here a few times before but this is a little history. She is 2.5 years old and has always had constipation/bowel issues from birth, things got worse with food introduction. We have had her tested for Hirschsprung's Disease/negative. She had a blood test for Celiacs/negative But she had a blood...
  15. thank you for the replies! I will have a look at the link. My daughter had been suffering from very bad constipation since birth and it only got worse as we introduced foods. We took her to a natrualpath to get some allergy testing done, but shortly realised that it might not have been a conclusive testing from what others have said. Tests came back...
